Job Title: Performance Test Engineer

Role Summary

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Performance Test Engineer to join our engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for validating the scalability, stability, reliability, and overall performance of enterprise applications across distributed environments. You will play a critical role in ensuring that systems can efficiently handle varying levels of user traffic and workload while maintaining optimal performance and availability.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with performance testing tools, cloud-based load testing solutions, monitoring platforms, and distributed system architectures. You will collaborate closely with development, DevOps, infrastructure, and product teams to identify performance bottlenecks, analyze system behavior under load, and recommend improvements to enhance application performance and resilience.

Primary Tools & Technologies

The role requires practical experience with the following tools and technologies:

• Apache JMeter
• Akamai CloudTest
• Azure Load Testing
• Azure monitoring and observability stack, including:
• Azure Application Insights
• Azure Database Metrics
• AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service) container monitoring
• PowerShell-based monitoring and automation scripts

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute performance, load, stress, endurance, and scalability tests for enterprise applications.
• Analyze system behavior, application response times, throughput, and resource utilization under varying load conditions.
• Monitor application and infrastructure performance using Azure monitoring tools and container observability platforms.
• Identify performance bottlenecks and work with engineering teams to troubleshoot and optimize system performance.
• Create reusable test scripts and performance test frameworks using JMeter, Azure Load Testing, and related tools.
• Validate API performance, distributed system interactions, and microservices scalability.
• Collaborate with DevOps and cloud engineering teams to assess performance across Kubernetes (AKS)-based deployments.
• Generate detailed performance reports with actionable insights and recommendations.
• Support continuous performance testing initiatives within CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native environments.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with Apache JMeter and/or Azure Load Testing.
• Good understanding of system architecture, APIs, and distributed systems.
• Ability to analyze and interpret performance metrics, logs, and monitoring data.
• Experience working with Kubernetes, specifically Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
• Familiarity with cloud-native application performance monitoring and observability practices.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with the ability to identify root causes of performance issues.
• Experience working in distributed and scalable enterprise environments.

Nice to Have

• Prior experience in the Mortgage or FinTech domain.
• Exposure to enterprise-scale loan origination or financial platforms.
• Familiarity with cloud automation and scripting using PowerShell.
