We are hiring a Performance QA Automation Engineer with strong Guidewire expertise to drive end-to-end performance validation across enterprise insurance platforms including PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, BillingCenter, and InsuranceSuite integrations.
This is a high-ownership role focused on ensuring scalability, stability, and production-grade performance readiness for large-scale P&C insurance systems.
What You Will Own
You will be responsible for validating and engineering performance across Guidewire ecosystems under real-world insurance workloads:
- Design and execute performance, load, stress, spike, and endurance testing
- Build and maintain automation frameworks for performance testing
- Validate end-to-end Guidewire business flows under production-scale concurrency
- Ensure zero performance regression across releases
Guidewire Scope (Core Focus Areas)
You will own performance validation across:
- PolicyCenter: quote, bind, endorsement, renewal transactions
- ClaimCenter: FNOL ingestion, claims lifecycle processing
- BillingCenter: billing cycles, invoicing, payments, reconciliation
- InsuranceSuite integrations: APIs, messaging, external systems
Guidewire Testing Methodology (Mandatory Execution Standards)
You will operate within a strict performance engineering methodology:
- Business Transaction Modeling Convert insurance workflows into measurable performance scenarios:
- Quote-to-bind lifecycle
- FNOL-to-claim closure lifecycle
- Billing cycles and batch jobs
- Ensure realistic concurrency and production-like datasets
- Layer-Based Testing Strategy UI layer (PCF-based workflows where applicable) API layer (REST / SOAP services) Batch processing layer (jobs, schedulers, rules engine) Database layer (query performance, locking, indexing impact)
- Performance Benchmarking Discipline Establish baselines for every release Compare performance against prior release benchmarks Identify deviation sources (code / configuration / infrastructure)
Automation & Tools
- Apache JMeter (primary)
- LoadRunner (VuGen, Controller, Analysis)
- Gatling (preferred for advanced scripting)
- CI/CD integration using Jenkins / Azure DevOps
- API performance testing for REST and SOAP services
Performance Engineering Responsibilities
- Identify and analyze system bottlenecks: JVM memory issues, GC pauses, thread contention
- Database slow queries, locks, and indexing gaps
- Integration latency across services
- Perform root cause analysis and provide actionable tuning recommendations
- Work with development and infrastructure teams for resolution
Performance Standards (Non-Negotiable)
P95 / P99 response time SLAs defined per transaction type Throughput (TPS) benchmarks for each Guidewire module Error rate under load
Batch jobs must complete within defined processing windows No release without performance baseline validation
Required Skills
- 5–10 years in QA / Performance Testing
- Strong hands-on experience with Guidewire InsuranceSuite
- Expertise in JMeter / LoadRunner / Gatling
- Strong understanding of: REST and SOAP APIs, SQL performance tuning, Basic JVM performance concepts, Enterprise web application architecture
Good to Have
- Guidewire Cloud / InsuranceSuite Cloud experience
- P&C Insurance domain knowledge
- Experience in distributed systems performance testing
- CI/CD pipeline integration for automated testing
