Role Overview:

Social Sherpa is looking for a Performance Marketing Manager who can take ownership of performance marketing across our client portfolio from strategy and campaign planning to execution, optimization, reporting, and growth. This role goes beyond managing ad accounts. You will be responsible for driving measurable business outcomes, managing budgets, developing performance strategies, guiding the performance team, working closely with creative teams, and building strong client relationships. The ideal candidate understands both the numbers and the creative someone who can identify what is working, understand why it is working, and translate those insights into better campaigns and better creative.

What you'll do:

  • Develop and lead performance marketing strategies across Google Ads and Meta Ads for multiple clients and industries.
  • Own campaign planning, account structure, budget allocation, execution, optimization, and scaling.
  • Manage and optimize campaigns across Google Search, Display, YouTube, Performance Max, Meta, and other relevant paid channels.
  • Own the full performance funnel from audience research and acquisition strategy to conversion and remarketing.
  • Set and manage campaign budgets, ensuring efficient budget pacing, allocation, and ROI.
  • Establish campaign objectives, performance benchmarks, testing frameworks, and growth targets.
  • Analyze campaign data to identify opportunities, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.
  • Lead A/B testing across audiences, creatives, messaging, landing pages, offers, and campaign structures.
  • Work closely with the creative team to develop ad concepts, hooks, messaging, formats, and creative testing strategies based on performance insights.
  • Ensure proper implementation of tracking, pixels, conversion events, GTM, GA4, CAPI, and attribution.
  • Monitor key performance metrics including CTR, CPC, CPM, CPL, CPA, CAC, ROAS, conversion rate, and revenue.
  • Build and present performance reports with clear insights, business context, and actionable next steps.
  • Act as the primary performance marketing point of contact for clients and confidently communicate strategy, performance, challenges, and recommendations.
  • Identify opportunities to increase client growth through new platforms, audiences, campaign types, creative approaches, and funnel strategies.
  • Stay updated with changes in Google, Meta, LinkedIn, and other advertising platforms.
  • Guide, mentor, and review the work of performance marketing executives and team members.
  • Build and improve internal processes, campaign SOPs, reporting systems, and performance marketing frameworks.

What you bring:

  • 3+ years of hands-on performance marketing experience, preferably in an agency.
  • Strong expertise in Google Ads and Meta Ads with experience managing multiple client accounts and budgets.
  • Experience across both B2B lead generation and D2C/e-commerce campaigns.
  • Strong understanding of campaign structure, bidding, targeting, funnels, attribution, and optimization.
  • Ability to connect campaign metrics with actual business outcomes.
  • Strong creative understanding and the ability to translate performance insights into effective creative briefs.
  • Working knowledge of GA4, GTM, Meta Pixel, CAPI, and conversion tracking.
  • Strong analytical, communication, presentation, and client management skills.
  • Experience managing or mentoring junior performance marketers.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • ROAS / ROI: Drive profitable returns and improve campaign efficiency.
  • CPA / CPL / CAC: Acquire customers and qualified leads efficiently.
  • Conversion Rate: Continuously improve funnel and campaign performance.
  • CTR / CPC / CPM: Improve ad relevance, creative performance, and traffic efficiency.
  • Revenue & Lead Growth: Scale campaigns and contribute to measurable client growth.
  • Budget Efficiency: Effectively manage and allocate client advertising budgets.
  • Client Growth: Identify opportunities to improve performance and expand account potential.
  • Team Performance: Maintain quality, efficiency, and consistency across campaign execution.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, Business, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of practical experience in performance marketing.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Google Ads and Meta Ads Manager.
  • Experience managing multiple paid media accounts, preferably in an agency environment.
  • Worked across both lead-gen (B2B) and e-commerce (D2C) clients.
  • Experience with LinkedIn Ads or other paid platforms is a plus.
  • Creative mindset with excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience with LinkedIn Ads, Google Tag Manager, or programmatic platforms.
