Job Description

The Opportunity

We're hiring an experienced, hands-on Performance Marketing Manager to take full ownership of the day-to-day execution and optimization of our Google Ads / PPC program. While high-level business goals and budgets are set internally, you'll have full tactical ownership of how we hit those targets.

You'll be the internal owner of paid search performance - building, managing, optimizing, and reporting on campaigns at significant monthly spend levels, and steadily taking over responsibilities as external agency support is phased out. The ideal candidate is a proven operator who has personally managed large Google Ads budgets and delivered strong ROAS - someone genuinely faster and more effective in-house than a part-time agency team.

Google Merchant Center and Shopping/feed-driven campaigns are central to the business, so hands-on GMC experience is essential. Meta and Microsoft (Bing) Ads experience is a strong plus, as you'll increasingly support those channels over time.

Responsibilities

Google Ads / PPC (Primary - full ownership)

  • Own end-to-end day-to-day execution across the full Google Ads account: Search, Performance Max, Shopping, Display, and remarketing.
  • Build, structure, and maintain campaigns, ad groups, keywords, negatives, audiences, bids/bid strategies, and ad copy.
  • Continuously optimize toward ROAS, CPA, and revenue targets - budget pacing, bid strategy tuning, search term analysis, negative keyword management, and A/B testing of ads and landing page routing.
  • Monitor account health daily; proactively identify and resolve performance drops, disapprovals, and delivery issues.
  • Manage Google Ads policy compliance for a catalog that includes regulated, restricted, and specialty/dangerous-goods categories - navigating disapprovals and restricted-product policies to keep eligible products serving.
  • Produce clear, regular performance reporting and surface actionable insights to the internal team.

Google Merchant Center & Product Feeds

  • Own the health and optimization of the GMC account and Shopping/PMax feeds.
  • Diagnose and resolve product disapprovals, feed errors, and account-level warnings across a large catalog.
  • Optimize product data (titles, descriptions, GTINs, attributes, product types) to improve Shopping performance and coverage.
  • Partner with the technology/catalog team on feed automation tooling and continuous feed-quality improvements.

Conversion Tracking & Measurement (with Technology)

  • Ensure accurate conversion tracking and reliable campaign measurement in coordination with the internal technology team.
  • Work with Google Tag Manager / dataLayer setups to validate tracking, troubleshoot discrepancies, and confirm conversions are attributed correctly across the funnel.

Meta & Microsoft (Bing) Ads (growing over time)

  • Support and eventually help own Meta Ads and Microsoft (Bing) Ads execution, including Bing Shopping / Microsoft Merchant Center feeds.
  • Apply the same optimization discipline to these channels as spend and priority scale.

Agency Transition

  • Progressively take over responsibilities currently handled by external paid media support, ensuring a smooth, well-documented in-house transition with no drop in performance.
  • Document workflows and establish repeatable in-house processes for campaign management, reporting, and optimization.

What You'll Bring

Must-Haves

  • 4+ years of hands-on Google Ads / PPC management, with demonstrable individual ownership of accounts (not just team membership).
  • Proven track record personally managing monthly Google Ads budgets exceeding $150,000 USD while delivering strong, target-beating ROAS.
  • Deep expertise across Search, Performance Max, and Shopping campaign types.
  • Direct, hands-on Google Merchant Center experience, including feed management and resolving product disapprovals at scale.
  • Strong analytical skills: fluent in Google Ads reporting, GA4, and data-driven optimization; comfortable in spreadsheets and building/reading performance reports.
  • Solid understanding of conversion tracking and comfort collaborating on GTM / dataLayer troubleshooting.
  • E-commerce paid media experience, ideally with large or complex catalogs.
  • Excellent written English and clear, proactive communication - critical for working with a US-based, remote team.
  • Self-directed operator who takes ownership and works with minimal supervision.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience advertising regulated, restricted, or dangerous-goods categories and navigating associated ad policies.
  • Hands-on Meta Ads and Microsoft (Bing) Ads management, including Bing Shopping / Microsoft Merchant Center.
  • Experience on or alongside Adobe Commerce / Magento stores.
  • Experience with feed management platforms (e.g., Channable, Feedonomics, or similar).
  • Google Ads certifications.
  • Experience transitioning paid media from an agency to in-house.
