Job Description

We are hiring for the role of Performance Marketer for a D2C brand based in Mumbai.

We're looking for a D2C Performance Marketer to own Company's direct-to-consumer growth engine, paid performance on Meta and Google, Shopify site performance, SEO direction, and CRM retention in partnership with our retention agency.

This is the role that owns the full D2C funnel: from the first paid impression to the Shopify checkout to the reorder email. You'll manage two specialist agencies for paid execution and for SEO and you'll be the primary agency relationship owner for both.

You'll sit within the Growth team reporting to the Head of Growth, working closely with the Gifting Performance Marketer, Content, Design, and our CRM agency.

Paid performance — Meta & Google (D2C)

  • Own the strategy and performance of BSS's Meta and Google campaigns for the D2C channel consumer acquisition, product launches, seasonal moments.
  • Manage the primary paid media agency relationship. Brief them, review their output, hold them to weekly reporting standards, and escalate when performance dips.
  • Define and own the D2C metrics that matter: CAC, ROAS, blended CPA, new customer acquisition rate.
  • Ensure Mumbai and non-Mumbai performance is tracked and reported separately — budget decisions must be made on clean, segmented data.
  • Brief D2C ad creative into the content and design teams via the internal brief system. Spec the hook, format, and CTA; review what comes back against conversion criteria.

Shopify & site performance

  • Own Shopify site performance from a commercial lens: conversion rate, checkout flow, AOV, abandoned cart. You identify what's leaking and drive fixes — working with the catalogue manager on listing quality and with design on UX improvements.
  • Own the D2C product and gifting pages that drive paid traffic — ensuring landing page quality matches the promise of the ad.
  • Track and report on site-level KPIs weekly, surfacing issues before they compound.

SEO

  • Own BSS's SEO direction and manage the agency.
  • Set priorities: which pages, which keywords, which content gaps matter most for organic growth across D2C and gifting.
  • Ensure paid and organic search strategies are coordinated — not running in silos.

CRM & retention (in partnership with agency)

  • Brief the agency on retention strategy — audience segmentation, reorder flows, reactivation campaigns, and seasonal re-engagement sequences.
  • Ensure the data analyst feeds them with the right audience cohorts: lapsed buyers, high-LTV customers, first-time gifting buyers who haven't reordered.
  • Review their output and hold them to retention metrics: repeat purchase rate, reactivation rate, email and WhatsApp engagement. You don't build the journeys — you own the outcomes.

Reporting & forum

  • Own the weekly D2C performance pulse — spend, ROAS, site conversion, top and bottom performing creatives — shared every Friday.
  • Present D2C and Shopify vertical performance at the monthly channel-product forum: which SKUs are converting, what the funnel looks like, where the budget should move.
  • Run A/B tests on creatives, landing pages, formats, and audience segments. Feed learnings back in a structured way.
