A specialist in the IT Services & Quality Engineering sector focused on enterprise application performance, observability, and capacity planning. The role supports large-scale web, mobile, and API platforms across finance, retail, and SaaS domains. This is an on-site Performance Test Engineer role based in India, focused on LoadRunner-driven performance and load testing.
Role & Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and execute end-to-end performance, load, stress, and soak tests using Micro Focus LoadRunner (VuGen, Controller, Analysis).
- Author realistic user scenarios, parameterization, correlation, and data feeders to simulate production-like workloads across web, API, and middleware layers.
- Analyze test results to identify bottlenecks at application, database, network, and infrastructure layers; produce clear root-cause reports with actionable recommendations.
- Integrate performance tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins/GitLab) and automate scheduled runs; maintain and version-control performance scripts and test assets.
- Collaborate with developers, architects, DBAs, and ops teams to reproduce issues, prioritize fixes, and validate performance improvements in subsequent runs.
- Build and maintain monitoring dashboards and alerting using APM and infrastructure tools to correlate metrics (TPS, latency, errors, resource utilization) during tests.
Skills & Qualifications Must-Have
- Hands-on experience with Micro Focus LoadRunner suite (VuGen, Controller, Analysis).
- Proven expertise in performance testing methodologies: load, stress, soak, and capacity planning.
- Strong SQL skills for backend validation and performance troubleshooting.
- Experience integrating performance tests into CI/CD tools such as Jenkins.
- Knowledge of application protocols (HTTP/REST API) and server OS (Linux/Windows) performance counters.
- Ability to analyze metrics and produce concise, data-driven performance reports.
Preferred
- Familiarity with Apache JMeter as a complementary load testing tool.
- Experience with APM solutions such as AppDynamics or Dynatrace.
- Scripting skills in C or JavaScript for advanced VuGen script customization.
