About The Role
This role, reporting to the Sr. Director of
Technical Asset Management, involves analyzing and modeling power plant performance, driving data-driven insights to enhance efficiency, and collaborating with engineers, O&M teams, and stakeholders to support strategic decision-making across a growing portfolio of renewable projects
Primary Responsibilities
- Collect, clean, and analyze large datasets on power plant performance and modeling
- Develop predictive models to forecast performance, troubleshoot PV systems, and recommend corrective actions
- Use PV modeling tools (PVsyst, PVlib Python, NREL SAM, etc.) for performance analysis
- Calculate plant/equipment losses (soiling, tracker, temperature, clipping, inverter efficiency, wiring)
- Compute KPIs (availability, performance ratio, energy performance index) using algorithms
- Support automation of reporting and analysis with data science/software teams
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs
- Translate analysis into clear recommendations for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Basic Qualifications
- Master's in Computer/Data Science, Engineering, Math, or Physics with 23 yrs in performance engineering, PV modeling (PVsyst), and data analytics
- Strong knowledge of PV system modeling (PVsyst, PVLib) and SCADA performance assessment
- Skilled in Python/R, SQL, Excel (advanced, VBA), and BI tools (PowerBI, Tableau, Plotly, Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib)
- Experience in project management, data mining, and AC/DC power system analysis
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills
