Performance and Benchmarking Engineer
Location: Bangalore
Experience: 6+ Years
Education: B.E. / B.Tech. / M.E. / M.Tech. in Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline
Domain: Linux Performance Engineering, CPU/GPU/NPU Benchmarking
Top Mandatory Skills
- Strong Linux kernel programming and OS internals knowledge
- CPU, GPU, and NPU benchmarking and performance analysis
- C/C++, Python, and Bash scripting for profiling and automation
Additional Mandatory Skills
- Hands-on experience with Linux, preferably Ubuntu or Embedded Linux
- Strong understanding of CPU/GPU architecture and kernel-level performance concepts
- x86 or ARM architecture experience, with x86 preferred
- System-level performance debugging and bottleneck analysis
- Linux profiling tools such as perf, ftrace, turbostat, and VTune
- OS, kernel, scheduler, thermal, and power optimization
- Benchmark automation, log processing, and result analysis

Key Responsibilities
- Execute CPU, GPU, and NPU performance benchmarks on Linux-based platforms.
- Design and own repeatable benchmarking and profiling workflows.
- Analyze kernel logs, system behaviour, traces, and profiling results.
- Tune Linux OS, kernel, scheduler, BIOS, firmware, thermal, and power settings.
- Identify performance bottlenecks across hardware, firmware, kernel, drivers, and applications.
- Develop Python, Bash, and C/C++ scripts for test execution, log parsing, monitoring, and reporting.
- Automate benchmarking workflows across Linux and embedded environments.
- Convert raw benchmark and profiling data into actionable engineering insights.
- Debug system, firmware, driver, and software issues during platform setup and benchmark execution.
- Document benchmark configurations, findings, tuning actions, and recommendations.
- Collaborate with platform, kernel, firmware, BIOS, driver, and validation teams.
Preferred Experience
- Performance optimization on Ubuntu, Yocto, Android, or Embedded Linux
- Linux kernel, device-driver, or system software development
- Knowledge of CPU scheduling, memory management, cache, interrupts, thermal throttling, and power management
- Experience evaluating heterogeneous compute platforms containing CPU, GPU, and NPU accelerators
- Profiling and debugging using perf, ftrace, turbostat, VTune, kernel logs, and related tools
- Experience with Git and JIRA
- Strong technical documentation and stakeholder communication skills
- Self-driven and ownership-oriented approach to system-level debugging
