Business Head (Polymer)

  • Drives P&L, strategic sourcing, and sales growth for PE, PP, and PVC materials. Mitigate market volatility and expand supplier/customer networks & responsible for developing market strategies, building supplier/customer relationships, managing import logistics, inventory and achieving sales targets for manufacturers and converters.

Key Responsibilities

F Define and implement business strategies to increase market share and profitability, treating the division as a profit center.

F Manage international sourcing, imports planning, negotiate with suppliers and vendor relationship management for polymers to secure optimal, cost-effective supply.

F Identify new clients/markets, drive revenue growth, and manage relationships with plastic manufacturers, converters, and buyers and oversee marketing budgets.

F Analyse industry trends, customer behavior and competitor activities, and price fluctuations (eg, in PE, PP, PVC) to inform purchasing and sales strategies.

F Monitor inventory levels, logistics, and manage credit risk and ensure compliance with trade regulations.

F Set and achieve sales targets, manage margins, and prepare budgetary plans to maximize profit.

F Drive cost optimization initiatives without compromising quality and safety.

F Monitor utility and energy consumption to improve cost efficiency.

F Coordinate with corporate leadership, sales, R&D, logistics, and vendors.

F Act as the key point of contact for audits, client visits, and statutory inspections.

Preferred Candidate Profile

  • Minimum Experience of 10+ years in polymer trading/distribution with In-depth knowledge of PP, PE, PVC, and specialized polymers.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical ability, strategic thinking, and proficiency in CRM software.
  • Proven track record in trading execution and building supplier relationships.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, strong communication, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Revenue Growth & Profitability (P&L responsibility)

  • Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
