Job Description

About the Role

We're looking for a hands-on PeopleSoft Administrator with strong Oracle DBA and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) skills to support and optimize a mission-critical PeopleSoft environment. This is a shift-based role (rotational/staggered shifts as per business requirement) and requires owning end-to-end platform stability, performance, security, and cloud infrastructure management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer PeopleTools/PeopleSoft applications (HCM/FSCM/Campus Solutions — specify) including patching, upgrades, and configuration
  • Perform Oracle DBA activities: performance tuning, backup/recovery, RMAN, Data Guard, capacity planning, and database security hardening
  • Manage and optimize OCI infrastructure — compute, storage, networking, IAM, and cost governance for PeopleSoft workloads
  • Handle environment refreshes, cloning, and migrations (on-prem to OCI or OCI-to-OCI)
  • Design and implement high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) architectures, and conduct periodic DR drills
  • Automate routine administration tasks using shell scripting, PeopleSoft Cloud Manager, and OCI CLI/APIs
  • Manage integrations with third-party systems via Integration Broker, web services, and PS Query
  • Lead root-cause analysis for critical incidents and drive permanent fixes, not just workarounds
  • Monitor system health, troubleshoot incidents, and ensure SLA-driven uptime during assigned shift hours
  • Plan and execute major version upgrades, PUM (PeopleSoft Update Manager) image application, and tools upgrades
  • Collaborate with functional teams on integrations, security, and change management
  • Maintain patching cadence, security compliance, and audit readiness (SOX, ISO, or client-specific standards)
  • Participate in capacity planning and performance benchmarking exercises for peak load periods
  • Support on-call rotation and act as escalation point during shift for production issues
  • Required Skills & Experience

    • 5+ years as PeopleSoft Administrator (PeopleTools, Application Designer, PIA, Process Scheduler)
    • Strong Oracle DBA expertise (Oracle 19c/21c, RMAN, Data Guard, performance tuning, database security)
    • Hands-on OCI experience (provisioning, networking, IAM, cost optimization, migration)
    • Experience with PeopleSoft on OCI (PeopleSoft Cloud Manager preferred)
    • Experience with HA/DR design and execution for enterprise applications
    • Working knowledge of Linux/Unix administration and shell scripting/automation
    • Familiarity with PUM image application and major PeopleSoft upgrades
    • Experience supporting integrations via Integration Broker and PS Query
    • Excellent communication skills; comfortable working independently in a shift-based environment
