People Manager

We seek an experienced HR (People Manager) to join our team and support Optiphoenix business. You will be critical to talent acquisition, employee engagement, performance management, and fostering a positive, productive work environment. This position requires a proactive individual with strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, who is passionate about supporting and developing our most valuable asset our people.

This will be a single-point HR role, where the person is expected to take full ownership and drive initiatives without constant supervision.

Key Responsibilities

1. Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning

Partner strategically with the recruitment team to understand and fulfill talent needs based on business forecasts and departmental goals. This includes participating in workforce planning discussions and developing effective recruitment strategies.

Ensure timely closure of hiring mandates within the expected turnaround time (TAT) by actively monitoring the recruitment process, providing regular updates, and addressing any bottlenecks.

Facilitate a seamless and engaging onboarding process for new joiners. This involves coordinating orientation sessions, completing all necessary documentation, and introducing new employees to company culture, values, and key stakeholders, creating a positive initial experience at OptiPhoenix

2. HR Operations & Compliance

Manage all HR operations: attendance, leaves, payroll coordination, policies

Ensure statutory compliance and documentation

Handle employee lifecycle: onboarding engagement exits

  • Employee Engagement & Culture

Lead the employee engagement agenda by developing and executing a comprehensive annual engagement calendar. This includes planning and organizing initiatives, events, and programs to foster a positive, inclusive work environment.

Regular engagement surveys should be administered to gather employee feedback. Analyze survey results meticulously to identify key trends, areas for improvement, and employee concerns.

Develop and execute targeted action plans based on survey insights. This involves collaborating with managers and team leaders to implement changes, address concerns, and enhance employee satisfaction and morale.

Act as the go-to person for employee concerns and grievances

Strengthen OptiPhoenix's culture of ownership, accountability, and growth

  • Performance & People Management

Oversee the end-to-end performance appraisal cycle, ensuring adherence to established timelines and processes. This includes guiding managers on performance reviews, goal setting, and feedback delivery.

Support managers with performance improvement plans (PIPs)

Monitor performance ratings, provide calibration sessions, and ensure alignment with company compensation policies to ensure accurate and fair reward decisions.

Facilitate quarterly performance review discussions between managers and employees. This includes providing guidance on setting SMART goals, providing constructive feedback, and creating development plans to support employee growth and performance improvement.

  • Policy, Process & Scale Readiness

Create, improve, and enforce HR policies and SOPs

Build scalable HR processes as the company grows

Be comfortable saying no when needed, while staying people-first

  • Learning & Development Support:

Collaborate with the Learning and Development (L&D) team to conduct training needs assessments for employees at all levels to drive effective development initiatives.

Job Requirement

  • 4+ years of proven experience as an HR Business Partner or in a similar HR role, preferably within a fast-paced internet, e-commerce, or tech company.
  • Bachelor's degree in Technology (BTech) or Master of Business Administration (MBA) from a premier college or university.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in HR systems and tools.
