Your Challenge
In this role as Group Leader - Test & Verification Engineering (TVE), you will be responsible for leading and scaling the TVE team in Pune while also providing deep technical leadership as a Senior T&V Architect.
You will play a critical role in:
Driving the growth, capability, and strategic direction of the TVE team
Delivering high-quality, compliant, and reliable test and verification solutions for medical device products
Ensuring end-to-end ownership of verification strategy across the product lifecycle
Building strong partnerships with global R&D, factories, and business stakeholders
Evolving the function toward a future-ready, scalable, and best-in-class engineering organization
As the role progresses, your focus will evolve from a hands-on architect to a full-time people and business leader, with increased ownership of strategy, team development, and business impact.
Your Responsibilities
Lead and grow a team of Test & Verification engineers, ensuring strong capability building, performance management, and talent development
Define and align group objectives, strategy, processes, and budgets in collaboration with the management team
Drive the development of service propositions, infrastructure, and technical competencies within the group
Ensure high-quality delivery of test and verification activities, meeting safety, regulatory, and customer expectations
Own and drive end-to-end Test & Verification strategy, including requirements validation, design verification, integration, and product release
Ensure traceability of system requirements, risks, and verification outputs across the lifecycle
Lead the creation and review of test strategies, plans, protocols, and validation reports
Oversee design and deployment of automated and end-of-line test equipment
Collaborate with global R&D teams, factories, and business units to deliver aligned solutions
Act as a technical advisor and key customer interface, translating business needs into technical solutions, proposals, and project plans
Support intake of new projects including scope definition, resource planning, budgeting, and timelines
Identify and drive new business opportunities in collaboration with Business Operations
Establish and deploy best practices in requirements engineering, risk management, and test & verification across the organization
Coach, mentor, and train engineers, architects, and project teams to improve technical maturity and delivery excellence
Drive continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging innovation and state-of-the-art methodologies
Ensure effective governance and execution through structured project management, performance tracking, and compliance adherence
Maintain strong collaboration with labs and test facilities to ensure seamless execution of verification activities
Contribute to long-term vision and strategic direction of the function and its impact on business and factory operations
Your team
The Test and Verification Engineering team is part of the Quality and Reliability Engineering department of Philips Innovation Engineering and is a diverse group of around 30 technical experts located in the Netherlands and India. You will lead the Pune team (appr. 8 FTE) and you report into the TVE Groupmanager located in Eindhoven.
We are looking for
Bachelor's, Master's or PhD degree in Physics, Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or a related discipline
Proven people leadership experience (5+ years), managing and developing technical teams with a strong focus on coaching, mentoring, and engagement
Minimum 12+ years of experience in customer-oriented, preferably global, engineering environments, with strong exposure to Test & Verification Engineering
Strong combination of technical depth and leadership capability, with experience in system and hardware verification, preferably within the medical device domain
In-depth knowledge of medical device regulations and standards such as ISO 13485, IEC 60601, FDA, EU-MDR, and Good Documentation Practices
Proven expertise in requirements engineering, risk management, and test management, with the ability to drive structured and compliant engineering practices
Experience in manufacturing quality, product quality reviews (DMR), and compliance gap analysis is highly preferred
Strong business acumen and entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to identify opportunities, support acquisitions, and build a sustainable project portfolio
Excellent stakeholder management and consultancy skills, with the ability to influence and connect across all levels of the organization
Demonstrated experience in project planning, estimation, and execution, with solid project management fundamentals
Strong analytical, architectural thinking and a hands-on problem-solving approach to deliver innovative and sustainable solutions
Ability to act as a role model and inspire teams, with strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
Experience working with requirements and test management tools, along with strong documentation and reporting capabilities
Certification such as DfSS Black Belt (or equivalent experience) is a plus
Fluent in English (written and verbal)
