The Scheme Event team will be part of the wider Special project team which is growing due to increasing demand for offshoring non-member tasks. The Scheme Event team will focus on all the Scheme and non-member transactions like Pension Increases, Annual Benefit Statement and Pension Saving Statement. In this role you will report into the Scheme Events team Manager to deliver the non-member tasks allocated, ensuring quality delivery to pre agreed strict deadlines.
Key accountabilities include
Play an active and valued part in the Scheme level project delivery of allocated work
Generating monthly, quarterly, annual reports/reconciliation and giving status to the trustees which help them to understand the liabilities and the receivables expected this year.
Preparing Valuation reports triennially or annually as per the Actuaries request for the required pension scheme. The valuation data for Active, Preserved and Pensioners to be prepared and extracted from admin system. This is a crucial stage where appropriate valuation data to be provided to Actuaries to calculate the Assets and Liabilities of the scheme
Applying Pension Increase and revalue member pension with reference to the UK RPI and CPI price index
Reconciliation of admin records with the payroll to ensure that correct pension amount is being paid to the member.
Produce Client Level reports for trustee meetings.
Drive high quality task delivery as part of the wider special project delivery, ensuring each deliverable is produced efficiently and to schedule. Understand task goals and follow efficient actions to help achieve those goals
Delivery of allocated task delivery deadlines within scope and budget
Monitor own workload and ensure tracking management information data is up to date and accurate in respect of allocated workload
Ensure that all chargeable work is captured correctly on timesheets for billing purposes
Challenge procedures to identify process improvements contributing to post project reviews of designated projects and suggest ideas for ongoing improvement
Required skills:
Graduates/Post Graduates
Basic Pensions knowledge and Activities on Scheme Level knowledge preferable
Ability to identify and efficiently resolve challenges, identifying solutions to enable projects to be effectively delivered within required quality and timescales in accordance with agreed remit
Good time management skills and the ability to organize and priorities own workload with experience of working on several projects simultaneously
Evidenced ability to work effectively as part of a team supporting an inclusive working environment and champion diversity within the team
Skills to include high quality communications and advanced numerical skills with intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
Clear and effective communication skills verbal and written (grammar & sentence formation)
Ability to work on tight deadlines
