Position: Payroll Tax Associate

The position requires candidates who are experienced in US payroll tax and have an exposure to payroll tax compliance, payroll reporting in a multi-site, multi-state, high-volume environment. The Payroll Tax Associate provides excellent customer service to managers and associates and is well versed in payroll tax compliance, tax management and reporting.

  • Performs tasks to establish and maintain employee and tax records.
  • Participation, calculation, and analysis of complex tax accounting scenarios.
  • Prepare and manage quarterly, and annual tax filings.
  • Performs file imports into payroll tax management system from various sources and reviews and verifies payroll data in a timely manner.
  • Posting of Payroll Tax information, PTS & RTS Files.
  • Perform Payroll Tax Reconciliations.
  • Identifies areas of client dissatisfaction and proposes solutions and coordinates with Team Lead or Manager to resolve
  • Demonstrates excellent troubleshooting, root cause analysis skills, and can implement preventative measures.
  • Mentor Payroll Tax team members and assist with development.
  • Conduct knowledge transfer and/or participate in training.
  • Quarter End, Year End tax reports preparation & W2 creation.
  • Maintain discretion and professionalism with team members and clients.
  • Assists with related special projects as required.
  • Complete Ad hoc reporting/projects.
  • Participate in cross-training within other departments (HRIS, Benefits, Garnishment, Accounts).
  • Builds strong partnership with clients by providing superior service.
  • Escalates non-routine inquiries and issues to Team Lead or Manager utilizing the proper escalation methodology and SLAs.

Requirements

Primary Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance or 2-3 years related experience.
  • Experience with the ADP Master Tax, ADP Employment Tax Service & QBO Turbo Tax.
  • Strong communication skills; both verbal and written business communication.
  • Ability to follow defined processes / procedures
  • Organized, methodical, ability to deal effectively with multiple tasks
  • Ability to prioritize workload and customer service orientation
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Demonstrate high levels of energy & be pro-active.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to accurately analyse complex and detailed data to achieve quality results.
  • Advanced-level skills with Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Should be comfortable working in NIGHT SHIFTS
