Summary The Payroll Clerk is responsible for entering payroll-related data from timesheets, production records, and individual timecards into a computerized payroll system. This role supports payroll processing activities, including balancing payroll runs, preparing federal, state, and local tax payments, and assisting employees with payroll-related questions and issue resolution. The position follows established procedures and guidelines, works under immediate supervision, and typically reports to a supervisor or manager.
Responsibilities
Input payroll data from timesheets, production records, and individual timecards into a computerized payroll system.
Balance payroll runs to help ensure accurate payroll processing.
Prepare and process federal, state, and local tax payments as required.
Respond to employee payroll-related inquiries.
Troubleshoot payroll issues and assist with resolution.
Follow established guidelines, procedures, and instructions when performing assigned duties.
Perform job functions under immediate supervision.
Complete assigned payroll tasks accurately and in accordance with established processes.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
3 to 5 years of experience in payroll, accounting support, or a related field.
