Job Title: Payments Architect HPE Nonstop
Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Payments Architect with strong expertise on the HPE Nonstop (Tandem) platform and deep functional knowledge of real-time transaction processing in the financial sector. The architect will design and manage fault-tolerant, high-performance payment systems that operate 24/7, ensuring reliability, scalability, and compliance for mission-critical payment environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect, design, and optimize high-availability payment systems on the HPE Nonstop platform.
- Create high-level and low-level designs (HLD/LLD) for payment modules, transaction flows, and switch architecture.
- Lead end-to-end solution design for authorization, switching, settlement, and reconciliation.
- Work extensively with Nonstop components such as Guardian OS, Pathway, TMF, SQL/MP, SQL/MX, Enscribe, and process-pair-based fault-tolerant designs.
- Integrate with external payment networks including Visa, Mastercard, AMEX, and host banking systems.
- Ensure security compliance with PCI-DSS, encryption, tokenization, and HSM key management practices.
- Analyze system performance, conduct capacity planning, and guide optimization for high TPS Environments.
- Work closely with development, QA, support, and infrastructure teams to ensure system stability and Quality.
- Troubleshoot complex production issues involving transaction failures, network integration, or performance bottlenecks.
- Drive modernization initiatives, including API integration and migration of legacy Nonstop modules to modern architecture.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to Nonstop development teams.
Required Skills:
- 8 to 12 years of relevant experience in application management or software architecture, with significant hands-on experience on the HPE Nonstop platform.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 8583 message formats and end-to-end transaction flows (issuing/acquiring).
- Expertise with TMF, Pathway, Expand, Guardian OS, SQL/MP, SQL/MX, EMS, and inter-process communication.
- Experience designing or maintaining ATM/POS/ECOM switching systems or other high-transaction financial systems.
- Strong understanding of fault tolerance, load balancing, and process-pair architecture.
- Exposure to cryptography, HSM integration, key management, and PCI-DSS.
- Ability to create clear technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and specifications.
- Excellent analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications:
- BE / B.Tech / MCA or equivalent degree in Computer Science or related field.
