Job Description

JPMorgan Chase & Co. is continuing to expand its consumer business through its new digital bank in Europe.International Consumer Banking is seeking a financial services professional to join the team as a Payment Processing Associate.

As a Payment Processing Associate at JP Morgan Chase within International Consumer Banking, you will manage supplier payments, serve as the main contact for Purchase Orders, and ensure invoice approval and payment. You will track payments, resolve complex payment issues, and handle supplier setup and invoice reconciliation.

We are looking to hire a confident, positive, and enthusiastic professional for a growing and dynamic business. The candidate will need to be flexible in their outlook and able to manage and adapt to a rapidly changing landscape.

Job responsibilities

  • Oversee 600+ different vendors across locations, legal entities, and currencies.
  • Verify purchase order data-quantities, pricing, account coding, and departmental approvals-align with contractual terms and budget parameters.
  • Communicate with requisitioning departments and vendors to resolve discrepancies or missing information prior to purchase order issuance.
  • Responsible for all end-to-end purchase orders, invoice processing and payments which includes cross checking details with the financial controllers, procurement operations and sourcing.
  • Investigate, reconcile and resolve outstanding or aged invoices, credit memos, and payment variances with internal and external key parties.
  • Assist business managers and suppliers throughout the onboarding, payment process to fruition.
  • Apply controls and diligence within the process, ensuring the correct senior management are present on approval flows for purchase orders as required by the process.
  • Assist in internal and external audit inquiries, providing supporting schedules and backup.
  • Identify process Improvement opportunities to streamline purchase order and invoice processing, reduce manual effort, and mitigate payment risk. Partner with procurement, finance, and IT to enhance system functionality, reporting, and workflow automation.
  • Train business managers on purchase orders and accounts payable policies, system changes, and best practices.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 3+ years of experience of the end-to-end procurement / payment lifecycle and related best practices.
  • Hands-on experience with Ariba, Compass or equivalents
  • Strong experience of different methods of Purchase Order processing
  • Experience overseeing a large and global vendor base
  • Must have good verbal and written communication in English
  • Data analysis with high level of Excel proficiency
  • Take initiative and maintain a positive can-do attitude in a high-performance, fast-paced professional environment, while managing multiple projects under tight deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, building strong relationships with stakeholders
  • Self-motivated, strategic mindset and tenacious with the ability to work independently.
