Job description
This role is responsible for managing relationships with payment gateway (PG) partners, evaluating and onboarding new payment solutions, ensuring high transaction success rates, and mitigating fraud-related risks in real time. The ideal candidate will serve as a critical bridge between our business, technical, and external partners, ensuring smooth integration and optimal payment performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Payment Gateway & Solution Management
- Act as the primary point of contact for existing and potential payment gateway (PG) partners.
- Evaluate and onboard new payment partners or solutions that offer better pricing, higher success rates, and innovative features (e.g., retry logic, smart routing, tokenization, etc.).
- Benchmark and negotiate commercial terms with PG partners.
- Coordinate with the Tech Integration team and Business teams for smooth onboarding and deployment of new payment solutions.
- Monitor and analyze PG performance (success rates, downtime, latency, etc.) on a continuous basis.
Risk Monitoring & Fraud Prevention
- Monitor real-time transactions to identify anomalies, patterns, and red flags indicating possible fraudulent activity.
- Define and tune risk rules in collaboration with risk analytics tools and PGs.
- Handle chargebacks and disputes end-to-end, coordinating with relevant teams and PGs for resolutions.
- Implement fraud mitigation strategies while ensuring a seamless checkout experience for genuine users.
Operational Excellence
- Regularly review and optimize payment flows and checkout funnels for frictionless customer experience.
- Collaborate with product, tech, and finance teams to troubleshoot and resolve payment issues.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in digital payments and fraud risk.
Data-Driven Decision Making
- Prepare and present dashboards/reports on payment performance, fraud metrics, and operational insights.
- Use data to recommend process improvements, new partner features, or tools that enhance payment performance or reduce risk.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Business, Finance, Operations, Technology, or related field.
- 4+years of experience in payments operations, risk management, or fintech,preferably in a B2C eCommerce environment.
- Strong understanding of payment ecosystem components (PGs, aggregators, acquirers, issuers, fraud tools, etc.).
- Experience working with tech teams on API integrations, SDKs, and payment system workflows.
- Knowledge of fraud detection and prevention tools, as well as chargeback handling processes.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a logical, data-driven mindset.
- Excellent Excel skills and should have basic knowledge of Power BI
