Responsibilities:
- Complete assigned tasks in accordance with quality, schedule, and budgeted hours as set by the team lead.
- Collaborate with project teams to develop design solutions that meet client and regulatory standards.
- Ensure all design outputs are checked and coordinated with other disciplines following technical quality procedures.
- Prepare detailed engineering reports, specifications, and construction documentation.
- Work independently or with minimal supervision while being an active and collaborative team member.
- Adhere to Mott MacDonald's quality standard procedures across all design work.
- Stay current with industry developments through continuous learning and upskilling in pavement engineering.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or postgraduate degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification.
- More than 4 years of post-graduate experience in pavement design.
- Membership in a recognized engineering institution.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Pavement condition assessment.
- Empirical pavement design using international standards like DMRB, AASHTO, and Austroads.
- Analytical or mechanistic/empirical pavement design approaches.
- Pavement rehabilitation design (inlay/overlay).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
- Problem-solving mindset with accountability for assigned work.
- Experience with 3D design software.
- Familiarity with BIM and common data environment platforms.
Desirable Skills:
- Specification and interpretation of pavement surveys and material data.
- Material selection and pavement design specification.
- Pavement management systems (PMS) configuration.
- Pavement deterioration modelling and lifecycle planning.
- Whole Life Cost and Carbon assessments.
- Root cause analysis of pavement failures and repair designs.
