About The Opportunity
This is a consultant-level role within the
Pathology Department, responsible for delivering
accurate, timely diagnostic services across laboratory disciplines in a multi-specialty hospital setting.
The role focuses on
laboratory oversight, diagnostic interpretation, and quality assurance, ensuring compliance with clinical protocols and regulatory standards.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Interpret and report laboratory investigations, including hematology, biochemistry, microbiology (as applicable), and histopathology/cytology.
- Oversee day-to-day laboratory operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and timely reporting of results.
- Ensure implementation and adherence to quality control and quality assurance protocols.
- Collaborate with clinicians to provide diagnostic insights and clinical correlation.
- Supervise and guide lab technicians and support staff, ensuring best laboratory practices.
- Ensure compliance with NABH/NABL standards, infection control, and safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and laboratory records.
- Participate in audits, quality improvement initiatives, and accreditation processes.
Must-Have Qualifications
- MBBS with MD/DNB in Pathology (or equivalent).
- Valid registration with the Karnataka Medical Council (KMC) / National Medical Commission (NMC).
- Proven experience in clinical pathology and laboratory diagnostics.
- Strong understanding of quality standards, lab accreditation, and reporting protocols.
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary hospital environment.
