You will join a global team of world-class technical patent specialists managing Nokia's leading 5G and 6G standard-essential patent portfolio. In this role, you will collaborate closely with inventors and standards delegates to identify and protect high-value 5G and 6G innovationsfrom ideation through claim charting. You will also work with internal and external patent counsels to create high-quality patents, expanding your expertise beyond technology into patent prosecution. With your technical knowledge and strong link to patent prosecution and monetization activities, you will contribute significantly to the development of Nokia's world-class patent portfolio. You will have technical ownership of a specific technology domain related to radio protocol inventions, such as 6G User Plane, 6G Control Plane, AI/ML enablers, or Non-Terrestrial Networksareas with massive business impact. As part of a strategic team with Nokia-wide visibility, you will have excellent opportunities for growth and career development.

How You Will Contribute And What You Will Learn

  • Collaborate with inventors to enable high-value 6G invention disclosures in your area of expertise.
  • Work with external patent associates to ensure high-quality patent applications.
  • Make strategic decisions on the global development of the patent portfolio in your technology domain.
  • Manage claim charting for 5G and 6G specifications to ensure a high-value, high-quality patent portfolio.
  • Promote a culture of innovation by working closely with R&D project leads, technical experts, and patent counsels.

Key Skills And Experience

  • Completed MSc degree with research experience and/or ongoing/completed PhD in Electrical Engineering or Telecommunications.
  • Strong technical background and familiarity with cellular communication standards such as LTE and 5G, preferably in radio protocols.
  • Ability to work proactively, manage multiple tasks, and meet demanding timelines.
  • Experience in Standard Essential Patent (SEP) creationpreferably on radio protocolsincluding work with 3GPP standards and/or contributions as a researcher or delegate will be highly valued.
