Job Description – Patent Associate – Electronics and Communications

Job Overview: We are looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented Patent Associate with 2–4 years of experience in patent drafting and prosecution within the Electronics & Communication domain.

The ideal candidate should possess strong technical acumen, excellent drafting capabilities, and a keen interest in handling diverse patent matters relating to electronics, communication, telecommunications, computer science, networking, embedded systems, and allied fields.

Required Experience – 2 to 4 Years

Job Location – Noida

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft high-quality patent specifications, claims, responses, and related documentation for inventions in the Electronics & Communication domain
  • Handle patent prosecution matters, including drafting responses to examination reports and office actions, and coordinating with patent offices and foreign associates
  • Conduct prior art searches, patentability assessments, and technical/legal analysis of inventions
  • Collaborate closely with inventors, engineers, and internal teams to understand complex technologies and identify patentable subject matter
  • Assist in managing and strengthening patent portfolios for domestic and international clients Support strategic patent filing and prosecution initiatives aligned with client and business objectives
  • Monitor deadlines, maintain prosecution records, and ensure timely execution of assignments
  • Stay updated on developments in patent laws, industry practices, and emerging technologies relevant to the practice area.

  • Strong patent drafting and prosecution skills
  • Sound technical understanding of Electronics & Communication technologies or related fields
  • Good understanding of patent laws, procedures, and prosecution practices
  • Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills
  • Enthusiastic, proactive, and keen to work in a fast-paced IP environment

Desired Profile:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field
  • 2–4 years of relevant experience in patent drafting and prosecution, preferably with a reputed law firm or IP practice.
  • Experience in handling inventions relating to electronics, telecommunications, networking, embedded systems, wireless communication, or related technologies.
  • Patent Agent qualification will be an added advantage
