Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Patch Management Engineer with 4 to 5 years of expertise in planning, deploying, and managing software patches and updates across enterprise IT environments. The candidate will ensure systems are up-to-date, secure, and compliant by coordinating patching activities and collaborating with IT teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, schedule, and deploy patches and updates for operating systems, applications, and infrastructure components
  • Manage patching tools and solutions such as Microsoft SCCM, WSUS, Ivanti, SolarWinds, or similar
  • Monitor patch compliance and generate reports to ensure timely application of patches
  • Collaborate with system administrators, network teams, and security teams to coordinate patch deployment and minimize downtime
  • Test patches in staging environments to ensure compatibility and stability before production deployment
  • Troubleshoot and resolve patching issues and failures
  • Maintain documentation of patch management processes, schedules, and policies
  • Ensure patching aligns with security policies and regulatory compliance requirements
  • Automate patch management workflows and reporting using scripting and automation tools
  • Stay updated on latest vulnerabilities, patches, and vendor releases

Required Skills:

  • 4 to 5 years of hands-on experience in patch management within enterprise environments
  • Proficiency with patch management tools such as SCCM, WSUS, Ivanti, SolarWinds Patch Manager, or others
  • Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux, Unix) patching processes
  • Experience with software deployment and configuration management
  • Ability to troubleshoot patch-related issues and conflicts
  • Familiarity with security vulnerabilities and patch prioritization
  • Scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash, Python) for automation purposes
  • Good documentation and reporting skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, ITIL, CompTIA Security+
  • Experience with cloud patch management (Azure Update Management, AWS Systems Manager)
  • Knowledge of vulnerability management and integration with patching processes
  • Understanding of compliance standards (PCI DSS, HIPAA, GDPR) related to patch management
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines for automated patching
