Job Description

Assist the Executive Chef in managing daily bakery operations and staff supervision
Develop and implement new recipes and menu items, focusing on both traditional and innovative baked goods
Ensure consistent quality and presentation of all bakery products
Train and mentor junior bakers and pastry chefs
Maintain inventory and order supplies as needed
Uphold strict food safety and sanitation standards
Collaborate with other kitchen departments to create cohesive menu offerings
Participate in menu planning, cost control, and budgeting for the bakery department
Stay current with industry trends and incorporate new techniques and flavors into the menu
Culinary degree or diploma with a focus on baking and pastry arts
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a professional bakery or pastry kitchen
Previous experience in a leadership role (e. g. , Head Baker, Pastry Chef)
Advanced knowledge of baking and pastry techniques, including bread making, cake decorating, and confectionery
Proficiency in menu planning, recipe development, and cost control
Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices, with current Food Safety Certification
Excellent knowledge of dietary restrictions and allergen management
Proficient in operating and maintaining various kitchen and bakery equipment
Strong leadership and team management skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Creativity and passion for creating innovative baked goods and pastries
Flexibility to work early morning shifts, weekends, and holidays as required
