Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Wire Harness & High-Power Interconnect Domain Expert to join our team, focusing on datacenter applications. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience in wire harness design for high-power systems, particularly in datacenter, hyperscale, and AI/HPC environments. This role requires a deep understanding of power distribution systems and the ability to work cross-functionally with various engineering teams.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop wire harnesses and high-power interconnect systems for datacenter applications.
- Conduct cable sizing, derating, and thermal analysis for high-current wire harnesses (100A to 1000A+).
- Integrate busbar systems with power supply units (PSUs), DC-DC converters, and rack-level power distribution systems.
- Ensure compliance with UL/IEC standards relevant to harnesses, connectors, and rack systems.
- Lead DFMEA and PFMEA processes to mitigate risks in harness and interconnect designs.
- Collaborate with mechanical, thermal, PSU, system, and safety teams to drive architecture decisions.
- Mentor junior engineers in high-power interconnect design and best practices.
- Support supplier development, cost optimization, and manufacturing readiness for volume production.
Mandatory Skills:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (Mechanical) - required
- SolidWorks
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems
- Expertise in high-current wire harness design
- Experience with busbar systems (solid/laminated copper)
- Hands-on experience with high-power DC connectors
- Understanding of grounding, earthing, and touch-safe design
- Familiarity with EMI/EMC, creepage & clearance, and insulation systems
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with connector suppliers such as TE Connectivity, Amphenol, Molex, Phoenix Contact, Harting, etc.
- Knowledge of mixed HV/LV routing within dense enclosures
- Experience in system-level risk mitigation for harness and interconnect designs
- Ability to work cross-functionally in a collaborative environment
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, or related engineering discipline (BE/BTech)
- 10-13 years of hands-on experience in wire harness design for datacenter or equivalent high-power systems
