The Role
This position reports to the Academic Director. You will be tasked to teach General Paper for the Singapore-Cambridge GCE A Levels to students at United Ceres College
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering engaging, rigorous and outcomes-driven General Paper lessons
- Helping students develop mastery across essay writing, comprehension, summary, application questions, argumentation and critical analysis
- Building students understanding of contemporary issues and their ability to engage meaningfully with complex ideas
- Teaching students to construct nuanced arguments, evaluate competing perspectives and communicate their ideas with clarity and precision
- Monitoring student progress and taking ownership of academic outcomes
- Providing thoughtful, professional and constructive feedback to students and parents

You should possess:
- A recognised Bachelor's degree
- Strong proficiency in the English Language
- A keen interest in current affairs, contemporary issues and the ideas shaping our world
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to explain complex ideas clearly, meaningfully and engagingly
- The ability to engage with different perspectives and develop nuanced arguments.
