KBR is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Legal Assistant to support our U. S. /U. K. Litigation and Labor & Employment legal teams. The ideal candidate will have prior experience with responding to records subpoenas, legal document review, data collection and litigation support and must be comfortable working across time zones in collaboration with U. S. based counsel.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate responses to U. S. third-party subpoenas including:
- Reviewing subpoenas for scope and required records
- Collecting and organizing responsive documents from various internal systems and teams
- Assisting with redactions and confidentiality checks
- Preparing letters and response packets
- Maintain accurate tracking logs of subpoenas, deadlines and response status
- Communicate effectively with U. S. based attorneys, paralegal and HR partners
- Acknowledge and distribute Service of Process to appropriate stakeholders
- Assist with Legal Hold Administration and reporting
- Support eDiscovery data collection requests
- Perform other administrative and legal support duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in law (LL. B. ) or equivalent; additional U. S. legal education or certification is a plus
- 5+ years of experience in legal support, litigation or document review (law firm, corporate legal department or ALSP experience strongly preferred)
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
- Familiarity with U. S. litigation processes, especially subpoenas and records requests
- Highly organized with ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Highly proficient with the following software tools
- Microsoft 365 Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive, SharePoint, etc
- Document review tools such as Purview and Relativity
- Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment and handle sensitive matters with discretion
- Self-driven, operates with a sense of urgency, and resourcefulness
- Ability to develop and maintain productive working relationships
- Team player and positive attitude
- Ability to coordinate with U. S. business hours when needed
