Job Title: Palo Alto Firewall Engineer (Gurgaon / Chennai)

Location: Gurgaon, or Chennai (Mostly Remote, may require occasional onsite visits)

Duration: 12+ Months Contract

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Palo Alto Firewall Engineer to join our network security team. This is a hands-on technical role focused on deploying, configuring, and optimizing Palo Alto firewalls to ensure secure and efficient network operations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, security-driven, and enjoys analyzing traffic flows and refining firewall policies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Bring Palo Alto firewall equipment online, including initial setup, licensing, and upgrades
• Configure and tune firewall policies using PAN-OS (GUI and CLI)
• Monitor traffic flows and logs to understand application and network behavior
• Refine and optimize firewall rules to allow precise traffic and enforce security policies
• Implement and tune App-ID, Content-ID, and security profiles
• Review and clean up existing firewall rule sets
• Troubleshoot traffic flow and policy enforcement issues
• Collaborate with network and security teams to validate traffic requirements
• Document firewall configurations, policy changes, and traffic findings

Required Skills & Experience:

• 3+ years of hands-on experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls
• Experience bringing firewall equipment online from scratch
• Strong skills in configuring and tuning security policies in PAN-OS
• Experience monitoring traffic flows and analyzing logs for rule refinement
• Deep understanding of network protocols and security principles
• Comfortable working directly in the firewall daily (GUI and CLI)
• Knowledge of least-privilege and zero-trust security principles

Preferred Qualifications:

• Palo Alto certifications (PCNSA, PCNSE)
• Experience with Panorama
• Experience in high-security or regulated environments
• Familiarity with compliance and security best practices
