We are seeking a competent and detail-oriented Supervisor Painting to oversee and manage surface preparation, coating, and painting activities across oil, gas, refinery, and petrochemical projects. The incumbent will ensure execution in accordance with project specifications, international standards, and safety procedures, while maintaining high quality and productivity at site.

Experience : 5 - 10 years

Salary : USD 1,632 - 1,794/month

Location : Kuwait

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and monitor surface preparation and painting operations in line with approved procedures and project requirements.
  • Coordinate manpower, equipment, and material resources to achieve daily and weekly production targets.
  • Review and interpret painting specifications, coating data sheets, and isometric/structural drawings.
  • Verify surface cleanliness, profile, and environmental conditions prior to painting application.
  • Ensure correct mixing, thinning, and application of paints as per manufacturer's recommendations.
  • Conduct visual inspections and verify DFT (Dry Film Thickness), adhesion, and holiday testing in coordination with QA/QC.
  • Ensure compliance with approved inspection and test plans (ITP) and client quality requirements.
  • Maintain painting logs, daily progress reports, and material consumption records.
  • Coordinate with QA/QC, safety, and other discipline supervisors for smooth workflow and inspections.
  • Enforce strict adherence to HSE policies during surface preparation and coating activities.
  • Support internal and client audits, punch-list activities, and final acceptance inspections.

Mandatory requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
  • Minimum 510 years of experience in painting/coating supervision in oil, gas, refinery, or petrochemical EPC projects.
  • Familiarity with international coating standards such as SSPC, NACE, ISO 12944, and ASTM.
  • Knowledge of coating systems for structural steel, piping, and equipment.
  • Understanding of QA/QC processes and coating inspection methodologies.
  • Ability to interpret PQRs, ITPs, and manufacturer's technical data sheets (TDS).

  • Strong technical and supervisory skills in painting and surface preparation activities.
  • Proficient in documentation, inspection coordination, and client communication.
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving capabilities in field operations.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills.
  • Ability to work in high-temperature, offshore, or refinery site environments.
  • Safety-driven approach with adherence to HSE standards and site discipline.
