Job Title: Paint Shop Maintenance – Team Member (Staff)
Job SummaryResponsible for ensuring optimal performance and reliability of paint shop equipment through advanced maintenance practices, PLC control expertise, and continuous improvement initiatives. Acts as a technical specialist in automation, supporting team capability development and achieving production, safety, and cost targets.
Key ResponsibilitiesEquipment Performance & Reliability- Ensure optimal performance of paint shop equipment including:
- PT/ED (Pretreatment & Electro-deposition)
- OHC (Overhead Conveyor)
- CV (Conveyor systems)
- Monitor equipment against defined performance targets and take corrective actions
Safety Management- Identify safety improvement opportunities
- Conduct audits and ensure compliance with safety standards
- Drive initiatives to achieve zero accidents/incidents
PLC & Automation Expertise- Act as PLC specialist, particularly in:
- Siemens PLC systems
- PT/ED and conveyor automation programs
- Develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC programs
- Implement contingency plans including backup and bypass programs
Training & Skill Development- Develop and implement training plans for team members
- Build competency in:
- Siemens PLC programming
- Paint shop systems (PT/ED, conveyors)
- Conduct skill evaluation (L1, L2, multiskilling levels)
Breakdown Management- Lead and guide team during breakdown situations
- Analyze failures and implement corrective actions
- Focus on MTTR reduction and improved response time
Planning, Reporting & Documentation- Prepare and monitor:
- Daily, weekly, monthly, and annual maintenance reports
- Develop and revise:
- Preventive Maintenance (PM) modules
- Patrol checkpoints and inspection plans
- Validate and implement OPL (One Point Lesson) documents
Continuous Improvement & Business Plan- Implement and monitor annual business plan activities
- Lead improvement initiatives to enhance:
- Equipment reliability
- Productivity
- Quality
Cost Optimization- Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities such as:
- Localization
- Energy-saving initiatives
- In-house project execution
Projects & Commissioning- Coordinate new projects and modifications in the paint shop
- Ensure equipment readiness and smooth commissioning
Required QualificationsEducation- B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation / Mechatronics
Experience- 4–10 years in paint shop maintenance / automotive / manufacturing industries
- Hands-on experience in PLC programming and automation systems
Technical Skills- Strong expertise in Siemens PLC programming (S7 series)
- Knowledge of paint shop systems (PT/ED, conveyors, OHC)
- Breakdown analysis and reliability engineering
- Preventive maintenance planning and CMMS usage
- Energy management and cost optimization techniques
