Job Description

Position: Packaging Manager

Department: Packaging Procurement & Operations

Experience Required: 4–5 Years

Location: IMT Manesar, Gurugram, Haryana

Educational Qualification

–  Graduate / Post Graduate in Packaging Technology.

–  Preferred: Diploma / Post Graduate Diploma from the Indian Institute of Packaging (IIP).

–  Strong understanding of packaging materials, packaging operations, quality systems, and vendor management.

Job Summary

We are seeking a Packaging Manager to oversee end-to-end packaging procurement and operational activities. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring uninterrupted packaging material availability, resolving quality and operational issues, managing vendor relationships, and driving packaging-related improvements across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Packaging Procurement & Supply Management

–  Manage day-to-day procurement activities for packaging materials.

–  Ensure timely availability of packaging materials to support production and sales requirements.

–  Coordinate with internal stakeholders for demand planning and procurement execution.

–  Monitor inventory levels and ensure optimum stock availability.

Packaging Operations Management

–  Oversee all packaging-related operational activities on a daily basis.

–  Identify and resolve packaging-related issues impacting production, quality, or supply chain operations.

–  Ensure smooth execution of packaging material inwarding, inspection, and usage processes.

–  Drive continuous improvement initiatives in packaging operations.

Quality Management

–  Handle packaging material quality issues and coordinate with suppliers for timely resolution.

–  Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).

–  Work closely with Quality, Production, and Supply Chain teams to minimize packaging-related defects and losses.

–  Ensure compliance with company quality standards and specifications.

Vendor Management & Development

–  Manage relationships with existing packaging material suppliers.

–  Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, delivery, cost, and service.

–  Drive vendor development initiatives and identify alternate sourcing opportunities.

–  Lead commercial discussions and supplier performance improvement programs.

Cost & Process Optimization

–  Support cost-saving initiatives through sourcing optimization and process improvements.

–  Track packaging material consumption and identify opportunities for efficiency enhancement.

–  Ensure adherence to procurement policies and operational procedures.

Required Skills

–  Strong knowledge of packaging materials and packaging processes.

–  Good understanding of procurement and supply chain management.

–  Experience in vendor development and vendor relationship management.

–  Strong negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.

–  Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems.

–  Ability to work cross-functionally with Production, Quality, Planning, and Supply Chain teams.
