About The Role

Job Summary

The Sr. (Mechanical) Engineering Lead is responsible for researching, planning, designing, and developing mechanical products and systems such as instruments, controls, engines, machines, and thermal hydraulic systems. This role applies engineering principles to the development and testing of mechanical and electromechanical systems, ensuring compliance with internal and external standards. The position involves working independently with general supervision and may influence others within the job area through explanation of facts, policies, and practices.

This job profile is intended for experienced professionals who apply practical knowledge of a job area and work independently with general supervision.

To lead the packaging engineering for business-critical specific products and application tailored to evolving market requirements, leveraging advanced engineering principles and cutting-edge technologies. This role specializes in designing and packaging complex systems with a focus on performance, durability, and compliance with industry standards. The packaging lead manages end-to-end project execution, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely delivery, optimum cost and customer satisfaction. With deep expertise in CAD tools and technical codes, the role drives technological innovation, supports knowledge transfer, and fosters a culture of precision, problem-solving, and continuous improvement within cross-functional teams.

  • Understanding the application and complexities of projects and ensure flawless execution meeting customer and quality requirements as per agreed timeline and budgeted cost.
  • Supporting upstream activities to Sales, Tendering, advanced engineering & procurement team to optimize packaging and system technically and with cost effective solutions. Collaborating with global teams as required, to harness the information and adapting to Sulzer India needs.
  • Ensure alignment of local manufacturing capabilities with global design standards. Develop standard specifications to support cross functional team including procurement and operation.
  • Assessment and Development of the training needs for engineering team in endeavors to meet specific applications and its requirement to deliver smooth execution.
  • Contributing to Global Packaging Standards (GPS) and leveraging it for local use with periodic upgrades based on developing technologies.
  • Goal setting and identifying KPI/KRA for self and team members in alignment with organization strategy and goal. Planning the activities and resources to meet the same.
  • Drive continuous improvement and cost optimization in product development
