Job Description

We are looking for an Packaging Support Engineer to join our team on a 1-year contract, responsible for packaging documentation, artwork updates, label changes, specification management, and regulatory-compliant packaging activities. The role provides offshore engineering and documentation support to global packaging teams.

Experience Range: 3 - 5 Years

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the creation, revision, and maintenance of packaging specifications, artwork, labeling, and bills of material (BOMs).
  • Execute changes through PLM systems (Windchill, SAP, or equivalent).
  • Ensure packaging and labeling meet regulatory and compliance requirements such as EU MDR, FDA, and global market guidelines.
  • Coordinate with global packaging, regulatory, and supply chain teams for packaging updates and approvals.
  • Support packaging validations including shipping validation, distribution testing, and packaging integrity (ISTA, ASTM standards).
  • Draft ECO/ECR and ensure correct documentation routing.
  • Resolve packaging-related nonconformances and support investigations.
  • Ensure packaging documentation accuracy and version control.
  • Assist in sustaining engineering projects such as cost reduction, artwork standardization, or label updates.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, Packaging, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • 35 years of experience in packaging engineering or packaging documentation support.
  • Real-time aging and accelerated aging studies (ASTM F1980): methodology, documentation, and compliance expectations.
  • Shelf-life validation fundamentals, including data review and packaging integrity testing
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements for packaging in medical devices/pharma.
  • Hands-on experience with:
  • Packaging materials (paperboard, plastics, pouches, blisters)
  • Labeling standards
  • Packaging testing methods (ISTA/ASTM)
  • Experience with PLM systems (Agile, Windchill, SAP, Enovia).
  • Strong documentation and change management skills.
  • Excellent communication and ability to collaborate with global teams.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in EU MDR/UDI packaging & labeling requirements.
  • Knowledge of artwork tools (ex: Illustrator, BarTender, Codesoft).
  • Understanding of sterilized packaging requirements.
  • Good understanding of supply chain processes.
