Package Consultant - SAP IS Utilities

Role Overview

As a Package Consultant specializing in SAP IS Utilities, you will lead technical and functional delivery within the SAP Energy Data Management (EDM) space. Operating full-time on-site in Bangalore, you will drive system configuration, manage massive intervals of energy consumption data, and integrate EDM with broader SAP IS-U modules (Device Management, Billing & Invoicing, FI-CA). This role bridges utilities business processes with robust IT architecture across end-to-end meter-to-cash workflows, AMI/MDUS integrations, and deregulated market communications.

Key Responsibilities

• System Configuration & Customization: Configure the SAP EDM module for profile management, settlement management, time-of-use (TOU) billing, and real-time pricing models.
• Data Handling & Integration: Oversee the ingestion and processing of large interval consumption data from Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) and Meter Data Unification and Synchronization (MDUS) systems, ensuring seamless integration with Device Management (DM), Billing & Invoicing, and FI-CA.
• Project Life Cycle & AMS: Lead requirement-gathering workshops, translate business logic into functional specifications, and support SAP Application Maintenance Services (AMS)—including post go-live support, SI transition, incident resolution, service requests, and change requests.
• Testing & Compliance: Formulate unit, integration, and UAT test strategies, maintain complete technical design documentation, and ensure data exchange compliance across deregulated market partners.

Required Qualifications

• Experience: 7+ years of overall IT experience with a minimum of 5+ dedicated years in SAP IS-U EDM implementation, configuration, and support.
• Functional & Technical Expertise: Deep domain understanding of utilities meter-to-cash workflows (electricity, gas, or water) and hands-on SAP IS-U EDM configuration.
• ABAP Awareness: Knowledge of ABAP for debugging, code analysis, and technical team collaboration.
• Preferred Experience: SAP certifications in IS-U, EDM, or S/4HANA Utilities; direct exposure to SAP S/4HANA for Utilities and SAP Fiori interfaces.
