Job Description

OPERATIONAL PERFORMANCE

* Knowledge of vendor selection, market freight trends, Logisitcs freight costing and industry benchmarks

* Sourcing of new Logistics Service providers, Performance evaluation, selection basis new/ existing services

* RFQ finalziation for cost estimation, quote comparisions & award of contact by CPP approvals & PO.

* Coordination with stakeholders to ensure seamless placements of vehicles as per Despatch plan.

* To produce regular, timely, accurate and meaningful reports to monitor and drive end to end customer experience

through KPI monitoring (on time delivery, defect rate, Cost reduction etc)

* Knowledge of Insurance process and settlement of claims in coordination with Insurance Cell.

* Monitor and analyze current trends and best practices in the logistics marketplace

* To ensure all business processes and governance rules and guidelines are adhered to consistently, in line with

India's Legal and Financial guidelines and company's processes.

COST & BUDGET MANAGEMENT

* Analysis on Cost Model changes, Cost Trends and manage the logistics Spend / cost based on the target of set for

* Monitor logistics cost rates and ensure that the logistics cost rate meets the target and continuously improves.

* Drive Cost reduction through VA VE exercises, route and network optimization, packaging improvements,

AUDIT

* Proper data/record management as per THCM/ Audit guidelines

* Assist Logistics team to timely closure of Audit Points [Protivity/JSOX]

* Updating of process / policy to avoid any potential control risk.

AUTOMATION

* Process automations through Kaizens, Small group activities to reduce mudas and improve operational effciency

* Knowledge of RPA & BOTs programming will be added advantage

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Technical skills

* In depth knowledge of transport & shipping activities, network optimization, export, Customs processes, standards & regulations

* Knowledge of current logistics and transport related updates in India (GST etc.,)

* A good working knowledge of Microsoft office applications

* A working knowledge of ERP business systems (SAP), WMS and TMS (Transport Management System)

* Knowledge of Budgeting, Cost & Sourcing.

Behavioral skills

* Strong leadership qualities, with a successful track record of managing the performance and motivation of others in a demanding * Able to function and lead effectively in a complex and matrixed environment

* Negotiation skills

* Excellent written & verbal communication skills

* Very strong data numeracy and analytical skills

* Ability to establish positive working relationships with colleagues in other parts of the business

WORK ENVIRONMENT

* Logistics environment

* Occasional travel to dealer/ customer for work will be required
