Position Summary:
Chevron is seeking highly skilled and detail-oriented Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and Disaster Recovery (DR) Technical Analysts to advance, advise, and execute on our BCM (Business Continuity Management) initiatives for OT/PCN environments across the enterprise. Partnering with the HSE, IT and various internal Business entities, the role plays a critical part in helping businesses create comprehensive BCP and DR plan documents, as well as develop and coordinate functional test requirements in alignment with the company's Disaster Recovery Cyber Policy. The position offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate both remotely and onsite with various departments to ensure organizational resilience in the face of unexpected disruptions and will be guided by the IT Strategist for Business Continuity.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to assess business processes and identify critical functions and dependencies specific to their OT/PCN environment.
- Develop, update, and maintain BCP and DR plan documents tailored to organizational needs and Chevron's Disaster Recovery Cyber Policy.
- Work closely with OT/PCN support teams across the organization to design and implement functional test requirements for BCP and DR plans, ensuring practical and effective testing of recovery capabilities.
- Facilitate and coordinate BCP and DR functional tests, document outcomes, and recommend improvements based on test results.
- Conduct risk assessments, business impact analyses, and gap analyses to strengthen business continuity and disaster recovery strategies.
- Provide appropriate technical guidance for backup verification, not limited to, but inclusive of verification processes and solutions that ensure the data itself is not corrupted or compromised prior to storage.
- Provide Technical insight, assistance and execution of Backup and recovery solutions designed for PCN environments
- Conduct training and guidance to OT/PCN staff on BCP and DR procedures, roles, and responsibilities.
- Support incident response and post-event review activities, contributing to continual improvement of BCP and DR programs.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 5 to 8+ years of experience in business continuity planning, disaster recovery, or a related discipline.
- Experience leading BCP/DR frameworks, methodologies, and best practices.
- Experience with functional test planning and execution for BCP and DR scenarios.
- Expertise in control systems, associated infrastructure, and Process Control applications
- Proficiency in backup software and tools designed for industrial environments, such as image-based backup solutions, incremental backup utilities, and disaster recovery suites
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles to safeguard backup data from unauthorized access and cyber threats. An understanding of firewalls, segmentation, access controls, and best practices for securing backup media.
- Strong communication and coordination skills, with a collaborative approach to working with base business operations teams.
- Willingness to travel, work onsite and adapt to dynamic requirements.

Candidate Selection Criteria
- BCP/DR Experience: Candidates must have demonstrated expertise in BCP/DR frameworks, methodologies, and best practices. Experience developing Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plans, designing and coordinating Functional Test, and ensuring practical and effective testing of recovery capabilities.
- Technical Knowledge of PCN Systems - Candidates should have working knowledge of OT/PCN architecture and components of PCN systems such as servers, workstations, controllers, and network devices. This includes knowledge of the specific operating systems, applications, and proprietary software commonly used in PCNs.
- Cybersecurity Experience: Knowledge of cybersecurity principles to safeguard backup data from unauthorized access and cyber threats. An understanding of firewalls, segmentation, access controls, and best practices for securing backup media.
- Leadership and Communication: Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence diverse teams and stakeholders are essential. Candidates should foster inclusive environments and communicate effectively across organizational levels.
Required work experience
- Minimum 5 to 8+ years work experience with BCP and DR planning, methodologies, frameworks, and recovery testing.
- Demonstrated experience with OT/PCN critical infrastructure in energy or similar industries.
