Job Description
7+ years of handson experience with Oracle VM Server for x86 and Oracle VM Manager Deep understanding of virtualization architectures, resource pools, templates, and VM lifecycle management Strong proficiency with Xen/KVM hypervisors and Linux-based virtualization ecosystems Advanced experience with Oracle Linux, RHEL, and Linux system administration Expertise in storage integration (iSCSI, NFS, FC SAN) and multipath configurations Strong knowledge of networking: VLANs, NIC bonding, bridges, network isolation, and virtual switches Ability to design and manage High Availability (HA), Disaster Recovery (DR), and failover strategies Proficiency with Shell scripting, Python, and OVM CLI for automation and orchestration
Lead the design, deployment, and endtoend management of Oracle VM environments across enterprise infrastructure. Administer and optimize Oracle VM Server for x86 and Oracle VM Manager to ensure high performance, scalability, and security. Handle installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades of the full Oracle VM stack. Manage VMs, templates, pools, and resources to deliver efficient capacity utilization and smooth VM lifecycle operations. Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues involving VM provisioning, storage, networking, and hypervisor performance. Collaborate closely with application, database, network, and infrastructure teams to support smooth deployments and workload transitions. Implement and maintain High Availability (HA), Disaster Recovery (DR), and failover strategies for critical business workloads. Monitor system health using Oracle VM Manager and thirdparty monitoring tools, ensuring proactive performance tuning. Automate routine operational tasks through Shell/Python scripting, OVM CLI, and orchestration frameworks. Maintain architecture documents, SOPs, configuration records, and operational runbooks for future reference and audits. Ensure strict adherence to security guidelines, licensing requirements, and internal audit/compliance standards. Provide leadership in virtualization best practices, hardware optimization, and environment scalability planning. Engage in rootcause analysis, offering long-term solutions to reduce recurring issues and enhance system reliability.
