Shift: 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM IST, plus on-call availability from 8:00 PM – 10:30 PM IST for alert response (in alignment with onsite support resource coverage)

About the Role
We are looking for an Oracle Retail Technical Consultant with deep PL/SQL expertise to support a retail merchandising and allocations landscape. Hands-on experience with Oracle Retail (RMS/RPM/SIM) or Blue Yonder / JDA (any module) or a comparable retail merchandising, allocation, or planning platform. You will own the data feeds that move merchandise, inventory, and hierarchy data from Oracle Retail into BY/JDA Allocations, and you will also build and support custom extensions within Oracle Retail itself. Strong PL/SQL is the core requirement, along with good functional knowledge of retail supply chain processes.
What You'll Do
- Design, support, and troubleshoot the data feeds from Oracle Retail into BY/JDA Allocations, including extract logic, interface tables, staging layers, reconciliation, and failure recovery
- Develop and maintain customizations within Oracle Retail, including custom PL/SQL packages, extensions to base functionality, custom tables and views, and batch programs
- Support, maintain, and troubleshoot a heavily customized BY/JDA (Blue Yonder) Allocations environment
- Write and optimize Oracle PL/SQL, including stored procedures, materialized view refreshes, and batch job scripting
- Diagnose and resolve Oracle errors (ORA-xxxxx) across both the Oracle Retail and Allocations environments
- Orchestrate batch jobs via Shell scripting, including trigger file management and SSH-based operations
- Build automation scripts, data validation tooling, and DAG support using Python
- Perform Oracle database operations including query tuning, index analysis, and materialized view strategy (FAST vs. COMPLETE refresh)
- Understand and work within the business process and logic of retail allocations, and ramp up on client-specific customizations to both Oracle Retail and the BY/JDA Allocations module
- Respond to alerts during the extended on-call window (8:00 PM to 10:30 PM IST), in alignment with onsite support resource coverage
Required Qualifications
- Strong hands-on expertise in Oracle PL/SQL (stored procedures, packages, MV refresh, batch scripting, error diagnosis)
- Hands-on experience with Oracle Retail, including custom development and extensions
- Experience building or supporting interfaces and data feeds between Oracle Retail and downstream planning or allocation systems
- Good functional knowledge of retail supply chain processes, including merchandising, inventory flow, and allocations
- Proficiency in Shell scripting for batch orchestration and SSH-based operations
- Working knowledge of Python for automation, data validation, and DAG support
- Solid Oracle database operations experience (query tuning, indexing, MV strategy)
- Willingness and ability to ramp up quickly on a highly customized environment
- Availability for on-call alert response from 8:00 PM to 10:30 PM IST, beyond the regular shift
Good to Have
- Experience with Apache Airflow (DAG authoring, task monitoring)
- Exposure to Oracle Retail data model and integration patterns (RIB, RETL, batch interfaces)
