Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Oracle & PostgreSQL System DBA with strong expertise in AWS to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) migration. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in database administration, cloud migration, performance tuning, backup and recovery, high availability, disaster recovery, and database security. The candidate will be responsible for planning, executing, and supporting enterprise database migrations while ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer, monitor, and maintain Oracle and PostgreSQL databases across development, testing, and production environments.
- Plan and execute end-to-end database migration from AWS to Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Install, configure, upgrade, and patch Oracle and PostgreSQL databases.
- Perform database migration using native tools, logical/physical replication, Data Pump, RMAN, pg_dump/pg_restore, and other migration utilities.
- Configure and manage High Availability (HA), Disaster Recovery (DR), replication, and failover solutions.
- Monitor database health, optimize performance, and troubleshoot production issues.
- Implement backup and recovery strategies using Oracle RMAN and PostgreSQL backup tools.
- Configure database security, user management, roles, privileges, encryption, and auditing.
- Work closely with Cloud, Infrastructure, Application, and DevOps teams during migration activities.
- Automate routine DBA activities using Shell/Python scripting.
- Ensure database compliance with organizational security and governance standards.
- Prepare technical documentation, migration plans, SOPs, and operational runbooks.
- Provide production support and participate in on-call support during migration and post-migration activities.
Required Technical Skills
- Strong administration experience in Oracle Database (11g/12c/19c or above).
- Strong administration experience in PostgreSQL (11.x or above).
- Hands-on experience in AWS to GCP Cloud Migration.
- Experience with Google Cloud SQL for PostgreSQL and Oracle workloads on GCP.
- Strong knowledge of:

- Experience with High Availability and Disaster Recovery configurations.
- Knowledge of Linux/Unix administration.

- Experience with monitoring tools and database health checks.
- Understanding of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) is an added advantage.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices is preferred.
