We are seeking an experienced Oracle PL/SQL Developer with at least 7 years of hands-on experience in Oracle Database development, Oracle 19c, and UNIX shell scripting. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in designing, developing, optimizing, and maintaining database objects and should be experienced with Liquibase for database change management. Exposure to Control-M job orchestration will be considered an added advantage.
Your tasks
- Designing, developing, testing, and maintaining complex PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, triggers, and database objects in Oracle 19c
- Developing high-performance SQL and PL/SQL code while optimizing queries, indexing, and overall database performance and scalability
- Creating and maintaining UNIX shell scripts to automate database administration, deployment, and operational activities
- Implementing and managing database schema changes, version control, and deployments using Liquibase
- Collaborating with application development teams to design, implement, and optimize efficient database solutions
- Performing code reviews, ensuring adherence to coding standards, and following database development best practices
- Troubleshooting production issues and supporting database deployments across Development, QA, UAT, and Production environments
- Participating in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, contributing to sprint planning, estimation, and successful project delivery
Requirements
- At least 7 years of experience in Oracle Database development with strong expertise in Oracle 19c PL/SQL
- Advanced knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL, packages, procedures, functions, triggers, cursors, collections, and exception handling
- Good knowledge of Oracle Times Ten and experience working with high-performance database environments
- Hands-on experience in SQL performance tuning, query optimization, and database performance analysis
- Strong proficiency in UNIX/Linux shell scripting for automation and database support activities
- Experience with Liquibase for database versioning, schema management, and deployment, along with Git or other version control systems
- Good understanding of database design principles, data modelling, and strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with fluent English (written and spoken) are required
Nice to have
- Experience with Control-M job scheduling and workflow orchestration
- Exposure to CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or Azure DevOps
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies and production support
- Familiarity with Oracle data migration, deployment, and performance monitoring
- Experience with Mainframe Modernization and cloud-based Oracle databases
