Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and administer Oracle GoldenGate for real-time data replication.
- Design and implement uni-directional, bi-directional, and multi-master replication architectures.
- Configure and manage Extract, Data Pump, and Replicat processes.
- Perform GoldenGate upgrades, patches, and migrations across environments.
- Monitor replication performance and proactively resolve lag, data divergence, and latency issues.
- Troubleshoot GoldenGate errors related to trail files, checkpoints, and process abends.
- Implement and manage DDL and DML replication strategies.
- Handle conflict detection and resolution (CDR) in bi-directional setups.
- Work closely with DBAs, application teams, and infrastructure teams during deployments and incidents.
- Support 24x7 production environments, including on-call rotation and incident management.
- Create and maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and SOPs.
Required Technical Skills Oracle GoldenGate
- Strong hands-on experience with Oracle GoldenGate (Classic & Microservices Architecture)
- Expertise in:
- Extract, Pump, Replicat configuration
- Integrated Extract and Integrated Replicat
- Trail file management and checkpoint tuning
- GoldenGate for Oracle-to-Oracle and heterogeneous replication
- Knowledge of GoldenGate Veridata (preferred)
Databases
- Strong knowledge of Oracle Database (11g/12c/19c/21c)
- Understanding of redo logs, archive logs, SCN, and transaction consistency
- Experience with RAC and Data Guard environments
Operating Systems & Scripting
- Strong experience on Linux / Unix platforms
- Proficiency in shell scripting for automation and monitoring
- Understanding of file systems, permissions, and OS-level performance tuning
Performance & Monitoring
- Experience in replication performance tuning and lag analysis
- Ability to analyze AWR/ASH reports in relation to GoldenGate workloads
- Experience with enterprise monitoring tools (OEM, custom scripts, etc.)
Security & Compliance
- Knowledge of GoldenGate security best practices
- Experience with encryption, user privileges, and secure deployments
- Awareness of compliance requirements in regulated environments (banking/finance preferred)
