Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Oracle EBS R12 Financials Functional Consultant to support its enterprise financial applications environment. This is a highly functional role requiring strong hands-on expertise across Oracle E-Business Suite R12 Financials, combined with enough technical capability to independently investigate data, troubleshoot issues, and work effectively with technical development teams.

The ideal candidate will bring approximately an 80% Functional / 20% Technical skill set and will have strong knowledge of Oracle Financials business processes, configuration, production support, troubleshooting, and enhancements within a complex enterprise environment.

This is a hands-on position suited for someone who can take ownership of business requirements and production issues, work directly with finance and technology stakeholders, and drive problems through resolution rather than simply participating in the process.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide functional ownership and support for Oracle EBS R12 Financials applications and related business processes.
• Work extensively across financial modules including:
• Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Accounts Payable (AP)
• General Ledger (GL)
• Fixed Assets (FA)
• Cash Management (CE)
• iExpense / Internet Expenses
• Additional Oracle EBS Financials modules as required.
• Partner directly with Finance, Accounting, business users, and IT teams to understand requirements and translate business needs into effective Oracle EBS solutions.
• Perform functional configuration, analysis, troubleshooting, testing, and support of Oracle Financials functionality.
• Investigate complex production issues, identify root causes, and coordinate solutions through resolution.
• Support enhancements, change requests, application improvements, and ongoing optimization of financial business processes.
• Create functional specifications and collaborate with Oracle technical developers on reports, interfaces, conversions, extensions, and related technical solutions.
• Develop and execute functional and integration test scenarios and support business users through UAT.
• Analyze Oracle application data using SQL to validate transactions, investigate issues, reconcile data, and support troubleshooting.
• Read and write SQL independently and communicate effectively with technical resources when deeper development work is required.
• Understand upstream and downstream dependencies between Oracle Financials modules and integrated enterprise applications.
• Provide clear communication regarding issues, priorities, root causes, resolutions, and business impact.
• Operate effectively and independently in a fully remote, distributed team environment.

Required Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with Oracle E-Business Suite R12 Financials in a functional or techno-functional capacity.
• Demonstrated expertise with multiple Oracle Financials modules, particularly AR, GL, Fixed Assets, Cash Management, and iExpense.
• Strong understanding of end-to-end financial business processes and how transactions flow through Oracle EBS.
• Experience performing Oracle EBS functional configuration, requirements analysis, troubleshooting, testing, enhancements, and production support.
• Ability to independently investigate application and data-related issues rather than relying exclusively on technical development resources.
• Strong SQL skills, including the ability to read and write queries for analysis, troubleshooting, and data validation.
• Experience working with technical teams on Oracle reports, interfaces, integrations, extensions, or other customizations.
• Ability to clearly explain personal ownership of implementations, enhancements, configurations, and production issues.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with demonstrated ownership from issue identification through resolution.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both Finance/business stakeholders and technical teams.
• Experience working successfully in complex enterprise application environments.
• Comfortable working independently in a 100% remote position.

Preferred Background

Candidates with experience supporting large-scale, global Oracle EBS environments will be especially relevant. Experience involving complex integrations, high transaction volumes, multiple business units or legal entities, month-end/quarter-end financial processes, or globally distributed stakeholders is beneficial.

Exposure to Oracle Financials implementations, upgrades, major enhancements, production support, and cross-functional integrations is also highly valued.

Technical Expectations

This is not a pure Oracle technical developer role. The expected skill mix is approximately:

80% Oracle EBS Financials Functional / 20% Technical

Candidates should nevertheless be technically self-sufficient enough to:

• Write and modify SQL queries.
• Analyze Oracle EBS transactional data.
• Navigate underlying Oracle tables when troubleshooting.
• Investigate data issues and validate application behavior.
• Communicate detailed requirements to Oracle developers.
• Understand how integrations, interfaces, reports, and customizations interact with Oracle Financials.

Work Schedule & Remote Expectations

This position is 100% remote from India.

Candidates must be able to consistently work:

Monday through Friday

2:00 PM – 11:30 PM IST

Because the position supports a distributed organization, candidates must have a professional and reliable remote-working setup, strong connectivity, and the ability to communicate effectively through video, voice, chat, and collaboration tools.

The successful consultant will be expected to remain accessible and responsive throughout the required shift and work effectively with team members and stakeholders across multiple locations and time zones.

We are looking for someone who goes beyond simply knowing Oracle module terminology. Successful candidates should be able to discuss what they personally configured, implemented, enhanced, troubleshot, and supported, along with the underlying Finance processes and business impact.

The strongest candidates will combine deep Oracle EBS Financials knowledge with hands-on problem solving, SQL capability, clear communication, business-process understanding, and the ability to independently own issues in a remote enterprise environment.
