Job Description

Senior Oracle Database Administrator

Location: Bangalore, India (Hybrid - 3 Days per Week in Office)
Salary: ₹30 LPA
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Working Hours: This role will support a global team and requires regular working hours aligned to the US Eastern Time Zone.

The Opportunity

We're partnering with a global organisation seeking an experienced Senior Oracle Database Administrator to support and enhance a large-scale Oracle ERP environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Oracle professional who enjoys working across databases, middleware, infrastructure, and enterprise applications. You'll play a key role in maintaining business-critical systems, ensuring high availability, performance, and operational excellence across a complex technology estate.

The Role

As a Senior Oracle Database Administrator, you will be responsible for the administration, support, monitoring, and optimisation of Oracle Database services and associated middleware technologies. You'll work closely with development and testing teams, support production environments, and contribute to architecture and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Oracle Database services across ERP applications, including databases, infrastructure, and middleware.
  • Deploy development code and support application releases.
  • Troubleshoot issues and provide recommendations to developers and testers, including performance optimisation and functionality improvements.
  • Respond to production incidents and outages, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Perform routine patching and upgrades across Oracle databases, middleware, and applications.
  • Administer and maintain non-production environments to support development and testing activities.
  • Monitor and manage production middleware environments to ensure maximum availability and performance.
  • Provide application architecture and design expertise to support ERP and associated business systems.
  • Support backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes.
  • Maintain documentation, operational procedures, and system standards.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, developers, and global teams to deliver reliable and scalable solutions.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6+ years of experience supporting Oracle-based enterprise environments.
  • Strong experience administering Oracle Databases (12c or higher), including:
    • Installation and configuration
    • Backup and recovery
    • Performance tuning
    • Database maintenance and upgrades
    • Security and user management
  • Experience supporting Oracle middleware technologies, including:
    • WebLogic 12
    • Oracle Fusion Middleware (11g/12c)
  • Strong Linux administration experience, including:
    • Command-line troubleshooting
    • Log analysis
    • Shell scripting (Bash)
  • Experience working with enterprise application environments and supporting production systems.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Desirable Experience

Experience supporting one or more of the following technologies:

  • Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS)
  • Oracle Master Data Management (MDM)
  • Oracle Advanced Supply Chain Planning (ASCP)
  • Oracle Business Intelligence (OBI)
  • Hyperion Financials & Planning
  • Oracle Data Integrator (ODI)
  • Kofax MarkView
  • Oracle Identity Management (OIM)
  • Oracle Access Manager (OAM)
  • Oracle Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC)

Additional desirable experience includes:

  • Oracle Forms and Reports
  • Oracle HTTP Server (OHS)
  • XML technologies, SOAP, REST APIs, and web services
  • Understanding of Java and the ability to troubleshoot Java-related issues from log files
  • Experience with AWS or other public cloud platforms
  • Exposure to systems engineering and software development concepts
