Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database Specialist with 10+ years of hands-on expertise in managing, optimizing, and supporting enterprise-scale Oracle database environments. The ideal candidate will possess strong database administration, performance tuning, backup and recovery, and troubleshooting skills, ensuring high availability, security, and reliability of critical business applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage, monitor, and maintain Oracle databases across production, testing, and development environments.
- Diagnose and resolve database performance issues, bottlenecks, and system failures.
- Perform database tuning, optimization, and SQL query performance improvements.
- Execute database upgrades, patching, migrations, backup, and recovery activities.
- Develop and maintain database objects including stored procedures, packages, functions, and triggers.
- Support application teams with database-related enhancements, troubleshooting, and deployments.
- Ensure database security, user access management, and compliance with organizational standards.
- Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery strategies using RMAN and Data Guard.
- Conduct capacity planning and scalability assessments to support business growth.
- Perform incident management, root cause analysis (RCA), and preventive maintenance.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, development, and application support teams for seamless integrations and releases.
- Maintain database documentation, operational procedures, and best practices.
Required Skills & Expertise
- Strong expertise in Oracle Database Administration (10g/11g/12c/19c and above).
- Extensive experience in SQL and PL/SQL development.
- Proven experience in database performance tuning and query optimization.
- Hands-on expertise with RMAN backup and recovery, Data Guard, and replication technologies.
- Strong understanding of database security, user management, and access controls.
- Experience troubleshooting and resolving critical database issues in high-volume production environments.
- Good knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems and database administration utilities.
- Experience managing large-scale enterprise database environments.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Oracle RAC, ASM, and high-availability architectures.
- Exposure to cloud-based database platforms such as AWS RDS, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), or Microsoft Azure.
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as Shell Scripting or Python for automation.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD environments.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum project delivery models.
