Role Description

This is a contract, remote role for an Oracle Database Administrator. The Oracle Database Administrator will be responsible for managing and maintaining Oracle databases, ensuring optimal operation and performance. Responsibilities include database replication, implementing database security measures, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring data integrity. The role will also include monitoring system performance, managing backups, and ensuring the consistent availability of database services.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in Oracle E-Business Suite 12.2 cloning (Application Tier and Database Tier).
  • Worked on environment refreshes (PROD to TEST/DEV).
  • Performed post-clone and post-patch validation activities.
  • Experience in EBS patching (Online Patching ADOP: prepare, apply, finalize, cutover, cleanup).
  • Applied CPU, PSU, and one-off patches for EBS and Database.
  • Strong knowledge of Oracle Database administration (19c preferred): startup/shutdown, backups, monitoring.
  • Troubleshooting EBS issues related to Concurrent Manager, Workflow, forms, and services.
  • Performed EBS upgrades and assisted in upgrade activities from lower versions to 12.2.
  • Coordinated with functional and infra teams during maintenance windows.
  • Basic knowledge of Linux/Unix OS, shell scripting, and file system management.
  • Experience with AWK skillset will be an added advantage.
  • Followed Oracle best practices and documented procedures.
  • Good customer coordination and communication skills, able to work closely with business users, functional teams, and vendors.
  • Provided 247 production support, including on-call support during critical issues, patches, and planned maintenance windows.
