Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) with 4 to 6 years of experience in managing and maintaining Oracle databases in production and development environments. The ideal candidate should be well-versed in Oracle database architecture, performance tuning, backup/recovery, and high availability solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle databases (11g, 12c, 19c) in standalone and clustered environments.
  • Perform database administration tasks, including monitoring, tuning, patching, backup, and recovery.
  • Implement and manage RMAN backup & recovery, Data Guard, and Flashback technologies.
  • Monitor system health and performance, ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.
  • Perform performance tuning of SQL queries, PL/SQL procedures, and instance-level configurations.
  • Create and maintain database documentation, standards, and procedures.
  • Support development teams in query optimization, schema design, and capacity planning.
  • Configure and manage Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) or other monitoring tools.
  • Implement and maintain database security, including roles, privileges, auditing, and encryption.
  • Provide on-call support, including incident resolution and root cause analysis for database-related issues.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 4 to 6 years of hands-on experience as an Oracle DBA in a production environment.
  • Strong understanding of Oracle RDBMS architecture, SQL, PL/SQL, and Oracle ASM.
  • Experience with Oracle RAC, Data Guard, and Oracle Enterprise Manager.
  • Proficiency in performance tuning, troubleshooting, and SQL query optimization.
  • Experience with backup/recovery strategies using RMAN.
  • Familiarity with Unix/Linux shell scripting and database patching/upgrade procedures.
  • Experience in managing large and complex databases and working in 24x7 environments.

Preferred Skills (Good to Have):

  • Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., Oracle Cloud, AWS RDS, Azure) for database deployment.
  • Experience with Oracle GoldenGate or other replication technologies.
  • Knowledge of NoSQL databases or hybrid architectures.
  • Oracle certifications (OCA/OCP) are an added advantage.
  • Familiarity with DevOps and automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform).
