Oracle Database Administrator

Company: Kiya.ai Client: Leading Investment Banking Client

Direct Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for the installation, configuration, and management of Oracle 19c database servers, including applying security patches.
  2. Remediating database vulnerabilities and performing database performance tuning.
  3. Providing and maintaining high availability (Clustering) and BCP/DR (Business Continuity Plan/Disaster Recovery) database solutions.
  4. Developing ITIP (IT Infrastructure Planning) Information Management Dashboards, including risk analysis and current projects, for different functions/clients.
  5. Establishing excellent working relationships with various functions across different regions.
  6. Ensuring rigorous follow-up and communication to stakeholders on estimated delivery timelines of projects.
  7. Applying an analytical mindset in troubleshooting and resolving database problems.
  8. Demonstrating a good understanding of Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
  9. Possessing experience with backups, restores, and recovery models.

Contributing Responsibilities:

  1. Develop, assess, and select proper strategies for projects, considering performance, cost, time, and scope constraints.
  2. Responsible for following up on and closing all risk items identified by IG Audit or any other internal and external audits.

Technical & Behavioral Competencies:

  1. Proficiency as an Oracle DBA with 12c and 19c experience on RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) and Windows.
  2. Working experience on Cloud platforms is desirable.
  3. Experience in core DBA, RAC (Real Application Clusters), and Data Guard implementation and monitoring activities, as well as troubleshooting, Database Migration, and upgrade activities.
