Oracle Database Administrator (L2/L3 Support)

Hyderabad / Visakhapatnam / Bangalore
(Candidate should be available for onsite support – minimum 1 day per week)
Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled
Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to provide L2 and L3 support across multiple environments. The role involves ensuring high database availability, performance optimization, and business continuity through a ticket-based support model (remote and onsite).
Key Responsibilities
Database Administration & Support
- Manage and administer Oracle databases across Production, QA, and Development environments
- Handle database installations, configurations, and upgrades
- Perform database backup, restoration, and duplication activities
- Execute database patching and upgrade activities
Incident Management
- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues (L2 & L3 support)
- Perform database crash recovery and restoration
- Coordinate with Oracle Support (MOS) for critical issues
- Provide support to application and business teams
Performance & Optimization
- Monitor database performance and ensure optimal functioning
- Perform performance tuning and query optimization
- Conduct regular database health checks and reporting
- Plan capacity and optimize system resources
Infrastructure & High Availability
- Administer Oracle Grid Infrastructure
- Manage Oracle SEHA (Standard Edition High Availability) environments
- Handle Oracle Fail Safe configurations
Service Requests
- Handle service requests via ITSM tools and email
- Implement database configuration and parameter changes
- Support patching, restore, and recovery operations
Support Model
- Ticket-based support (ITSM tools & email)
- Remote and onsite support as required
Working Hours
- Standard Support: 8x5 (Business Hours)
- Critical Incidents (Severity 1): 24x7 support availability
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong experience in Oracle Database Administration (L2/L3 support)
- Hands-on experience with Oracle Grid Infrastructure and SEHA
- Expertise in database backup, recovery, and patching
- Good understanding of performance tuning and troubleshooting
- Experience with ITSM tools and ticket-based support models
- Ability to handle production-critical environments
Preferred Skills
- Experience working with Oracle MOS support
- Knowledge of high availability and disaster recovery solutions
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science / IT or related field
- Relevant Oracle certifications (preferred)
