Oracle Database Administrator

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Oracle DBA responsible for managing, optimizing, and securing enterprise Oracle environments across on-prem and cloud platforms. The role includes administration of high-availability systems using RAC, performance tuning on Exadata, real-time data replication using GoldenGate, and cloud operations in OCI.

Key Responsibilities

Database Administration

• Install, configure, upgrade, and patch Oracle databases (12c, 19c, 21c or later)
• Manage CDB/PDB architecture
• Perform backup and recovery using RMAN
• Monitor database health, performance, and availability

High Availability & Disaster Recovery

• Administer and support Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) environments
• Configure and manage Data Guard (Physical/Logical standby)
• Implement failover and disaster recovery strategies
• Experience in Oracle Cloud Backup Module (OCI)

Exadata Administration

• Manage and optimize workloads on Oracle Exadata
• Perform storage, compute, and network tuning
• Handle patching using Exadata tools (e.g., patchmgr, dbnodeupdate.sh)

Replication & Data Integration

• Design, implement, and support real-time replication using Oracle GoldenGate
• Troubleshoot lag, performance, and data consistency issues
• Support heterogeneous replication where needed

Cloud (OCI) Operations

• Deploy and manage databases in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
• Work with DB Systems, Autonomous Databases, and Object Storage
• Automate provisioning using Terraform or OCI CLI

Performance Tuning

• Analyze AWR, ASH, ADDM reports
• Optimize SQL, indexing strategies, and execution plans
• Monitor and tune memory structures (SGA, PGA)

Security & Compliance

• Implement database security best practices
• Manage users, roles, privileges, and auditing
• Support encryption (TDE) and compliance requirements

Automation & Scripting

• Develop automation scripts using Shell, Python, or Perl
• Automate monitoring, backups, and routine DBA tasks

Required Skills

• Strong experience with Oracle Database (10+ years preferred)
• Hands-on with:
• RAC
• Exadata
• GoldenGate
• OCI
• Expertise in RMAN, Data Guard, and performance tuning
• Strong Linux/Unix administration skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Autonomous Database
• Familiarity with DevOps tools (Terraform, Ansible)
• Knowledge of Azure/AWS (multi-cloud exposure is a plus)
• Oracle certifications (OCP, OCM)
