Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Andheri Mumbai for an Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Engineer. The OCI Engineer will have experience with cloud automation, security setup, and troubleshooting complex environments. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in designing, deploying, and managing Oracle technology solutions with a focus on OCI. This role involves leading the migration to OCI, configuring cloud infrastructure, and ensuring secure, scalable, and efficient cloud operations.
Key Responsibilities
OCI Implementation & Migration:
- Deploy and configure OCI compute, storage, networking, and database services.
- Execute migration of workloads and applications from on-premises or other clouds into OCI.
- Assist in building and managing multi-region, multi-environment OCI deployments.
Cloud Infrastructure & Networking:
- Provision VMs, storage, and OCI PaaS services to meet application requirements.
- Configure VCN, subnets, load balancers, VPNs, and FastConnect for secure connectivity.
- Implement firewalls, security lists, NSGs, and WAFs to protect workloads.
- Optimize performance and cost across deployed OCI resources.
Automation & Tools:
- Write Terraform scripts, Ansible playbooks, and OCI CLI commands to automate provisioning.
- Develop custom scripts (Python, Bash, PowerShell) for day-to-day operational tasks.
- Build and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting systems using OCI Monitoring, Logging, and third-party tools.
Support & Troubleshooting:
- Provide L2/L3 support for OCI infrastructure, resolving incidents and service issues.
- Diagnose and fix problems across cloud, virtual, and physical layers.
- Participate in on-call/rotation support for OCI services.
Security & Compliance:
- Implement IAM policies, roles, and compartments to enforce access controls.
- Perform OCI security scans, patching, and vulnerability remediation.
- Ensure compliance with enterprise and regulatory security requirements.
Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing:
- Work with application, DevOps, and database teams to ensure smooth deployments.
- Document SOPs, runbooks, and best practices for OCI operations.
- Mentor junior engineers in OCI technologies and automation.
Qualifications
- 5-8 years of IT infrastructure experience, with at least 3+ years of hands-on OCI experience.
- Strong expertise in OCI Compute, Networking (VCN, VPN, FastConnect, Load Balancer), Storage, IAM, and Database services.
- Proven experience with Terraform, Ansible, OCI CLI, and scripting (Python/Bash/PowerShell).
- Hands-on experience with OCI Monitoring, Logging, and troubleshooting tools.
- Solid knowledge of security best practices in OCI.
- Experience with hybrid environments integrating on-premises systems with OCI.
- Certifications: OCI Architect Associate or Professional, OCI Operations Professional, OCI Security Professional (Preferred)
- Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
